“Excellent presentation of the history of this place - dating back to the arrival of the first Spanish in Tampa Bay at this location at the inland waterway shores astounding local natives with their armor, guns, horses, and large trans-Atlantic sailing ships. They wanted corn for the horses - not themselves. There is much more.. including the tropical vegetation and peacocks!”
“I love this place .I am very pleased every time I go. The waiting times are not very long if you know when to go. I get a few packages of meat, some fresh and canned vegetables a dozen eggs and a few loaves of bread. What more could you ask for. And usually 1/2-1 gal of milk. Thank you very muchThey make you feel very welcome.I wish I knew what the date is when I wrote this but it all still applies maybe 3 years later. Do yourself a favor and bring a Walker to do your shopping with. There's a nice wheelchair alley to get down the stairs with and you won't have to exchange your groceries. Put the bags on the handle bars Now take the stuff to your car. Simple.”
“I had the pleasure of touring the Parc Center for Disabilities last week and was moved to tears with the wonderful things this organization is doing for children and adults with disabilities in the Tampa Bay and St. Pete area. If you've been looking for an organization to volunteer with or provide donations to, this is it.”
“I've had some good doctors and practitioners, but none as good as Dr. Wallace and Jennifer. I have felt welcome since my first appointment. Everyone in the office is friendly, helpful and most of all considerate. I have finally found a team that has my health and best interest in mind. I am bowled over with their level of commitment to my well being. Thank you guys!”
“This is just one of the reasons why St. Pete's is one of the best places I've ever been! Local talent provides clever comfy apparel and gifts. There are resources for medical/mental health services. There is a space next door that is being reimagined. Big love fam.”
“This is an amazing space! It is a beautifully restored building that is pays homage to the past of St. Pete while putting action in place to build a better, healthier, and more inclusive future for the area. I have been there 4 times in the past 2 weeks as a student of the community after having returned to greater Tampa/St. Pete area after a 3 year stay in CA and have gained a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of resources in just those 4 visits.”
“Stephanie was an absolute pleasure to speak with. Her genuine passion for helping those facing hardship is truly inspiring. She’s motivated me, and many others, to support this organization and its mission of compassion!”

“nice girls, not too much animal variety, high amount charge for adoption although they kill in every known term those animals but government doesn't give free.”
“This is a true thrift experience. Lots of different items with great prices. Yes, you have to dig through the merchandise and really take your time looking but isn’t that what thrifting is all about? Besides, the volunteers are very kind and friendly. It is a hidden St. Pete gem.”
“Grateful for the gifts this Christmas, my girl. Happy, her face of joy when she saw so many gifts, she had never been able to have a Christmas like this, thank you.”

“I was new in town and needed Professional Tax services I called them and they answered all my questions before I was a client. Now 2 years later I'm still with them and planning on staying for many more years.THANKS CARTIER CPAs, LLC”
“I was a frequent summer kid here back in elementary and middle school. Really heartbroken to hear this place has closed. I remember it struggling a lot but honestly this place was absolutely amazing and it's heavily shaped who I am today and my interest in science/math/ really anything that I had a summer camp in for all those years. Sad to see it's "temporarily closed" as google says. -Caleb.”
“I went there and had my taxes done for free and friendly people an excellent place to go for a help with more than just taxes they help with all kinds of stuff you get your food stamps recertified there”
“We were attending a celebration of life there. Always enjoyed the fish fry that used to happen on Friday nights during Lent. Love the bar area!! And great staff who work there!!”
“Recently visited this location to attend a graduation ceremony for a dear friend. The staff were pleasant, helpful and attentive to all attending! The event was well planned and went very smoothly. A great way to award the graduates and welcome them to their new vocations!”
“Just went in and got GREAT deals! Bought 11 movies and a book spent 12.58 of everything. Well worth the money spent, all triple a title movies. Books aren't bad and are in very good condition! DEF CHECK OUT!!!!!”
“I really wanted to give the facility 5 stars but what was posted on Facebook or social media did not reflect the correct time of events. The commander apologized but the extra driving and rescheduling my day was a serious inconvenience. I am confident the information DAV provided was helpful to individuals who arrived 90 minutes later.”
“EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THAT THE Catholic CHURCH and Catholic Charities do the most to help the homeless and low income are helped more by these 2 agencies then any other agency in Pinellas County then any other agency in the surrounding counties. Thank you all for all you do.”
“I came to alpha house Oct 19th 2023! Best decision I’ve ever made everywhere you go they’ll be bumps along the way but the more you fight and put your kids and self first and also god himself everything will flow ! I was the last person to get into alpha and the first to leave many trials and tribulations but I made some life long friends got to experience new things and mature in ways I didn’t even see fit at first to this day in 2025 I’m still able to call and get things I need for both my kids and myself ! I encourage all hard working girls/women to come here to get the experience you do what you’re supposed to do I’m telling you the staff will break their backs for you ! I wouldn’t be where I am without the program if I could go back in time I’d do it again ! And we’re human we won’t get along with everyone! But again one foot in front of the other because YOU write your future only YOU can tell your story ! And always remember you have someone childhood in your hands ! No times for games once you bring life into this world ! Again thank you to all the staff that kept me going even on days where I just genuinely didn’t feel like it ! You have to be uncomfortable in places to move forward the more comfortable you are the more lazy you become ! Never settle !”
“My experience with SVDP CARES was an excellent one. I can't even begin to tell you how my case manager Asa was always right on top of everything and right there to assist with any issues we had. She is amazing and such a good person. Idk where on earth we would be without SVDP CARES . We were homeless on the streets and now we have a roof over our head. They helped us apply for assistance with social security and with section 8. I rarely had a worry. I really feel blessed to have had the opportunity to find this organization.”
“I love the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg. What a wonderful place to be where all can socialize, make friends, meet new people and work out at the gym. My family and children love attending the school age programs and swimming lessons and Jim and Heather Gills!”
