I don’t usually write negative reviews—everyone can have an off day—but my recent visit to the Grand Beach Hotel in Surfside was beyond disappointing.
As locals from Miami, my wife and I enjoy weekend getaways at beachfront hotels. It’s always meant to be a quick escape to unwind. Unfortunately, this stay was anything but relaxing.
The property itself looked tired, with visible signs of neglect. Maintenance was clearly not a priority. But what truly sealed our dissatisfaction was the service—or lack thereof.
At the market store, I ordered a cappuccino and a spinach empanada. When I asked if the pastries were fresh, the attendant confidently said yes. She warmed up the empanada and served it. One bite was all it took—it was cold on the inside and tasted stale. I raised the issue, was referred to the manager, and waited. And waited. The manager never showed, and the line kept growing. Eventually, I just walked away. A refund wasn’t worth the hassle.
When I mentioned the issue to the concierge during checkout, they apologized—but it felt hollow. This wasn’t about $6. It was about the fact that no one seemed to care. They’re still selling old food, and I genuinely hope no one gets sick.
It wasn’t just an empanada I paid for. It was supposed to be part of a relaxing experience, and the hotel failed to deliver that on every way.

Mostly everything about this Hotel is really good, the Front desk are so polite and helpful, the doorman, bell hop, pool attendants are great, our room was excellent, the bed and pillows so comfortable. Now for the bad news, their valet parking I read the reviews about them prior to arrival which made me leary of them, on arrival I told the valet I know about your reviews for smashing up cars, I gave the attendant 10 bucks and said take good care of my car I give him my key and he just runs off somewhere, I contact his manager, he tracks down the attendant. Now we go around the car do video and I tell the guy dont let anything happen to this car or I wont be happy, the attendant and onsite manager reassure me my car will be fine, I give the attendant another 5 bucks and make it clear again to take good care of my car, he says he will. Well low and behold when they return my car to me i can see underneath the car as it pulls up the driveway, I can see one of the underbody shields is hanging down and two of them look like they've encountered some sort of impact. the onsite manager from the day prior was there he goes under my car and pushes it back up but I can see they dont look perfect factory flush now. we have a discussion about it and I want him to document this, he mentions how I didnt video under the car but agrees with me that who in the heck should need to do that, as in me being someone who spent a good deal of time around the autobody business I know when you damage these things the clips can break off and they fall again, we go back and fourth about it, he says its fixed now, I say if it falls later whos gonna pay for that. he didn't document the incident but gave me his bosses card. Well hear me now, this shouldn't have happened period, bottoming out my car some how, its never happen before and shouldn't happen while in your possession. Causing me lots of aggravation after a pleasant stay, they've got me crawling around my car. its really screwed up that they have butchers handling my ride, My advice to you, don't be shy about coming down on these people and make them get there act together, do video, take pictures make them do a walk around and possibly even video under your car if you give a hoot about your car.

This was one of the best birthdays I had. The staff was amazing and the food was magnificent. The views were amazing. I will definitely stay here again!!

This hotel was phenomenal in every aspect. Great location, just steps from Harding stores and restaurants. Beautiful lobby and rooms and really attentive staff. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

So this hotel advertises an adults only section, which is the only reason we rented here, and that was complete BS. They allow kids of all ages on the rooftop which is supposed to be for adults. I have nothing against kids. But if my wife and I are spending money to have a staycation in a hotel that advertises “adults only” then that is what I expect. Nothing more nothing less. There were kids screaming on the rooftop pool. Kids in the jacuzzi in diapers. Full on strollers, toddlers, and preteens. This is not what we paid for and expected. So if you’re an adult couple, don’t rent here. This is not for adults. We spent a thousand a night to hang out with kids. False advertising regarding their adult only sections of the hotel. Never staying here again. It gets 1 star across the board because of the above. Otherwise it would have been a nice place.

I recently had the pleasure of doing a personal training session with Michael at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside — and honestly, it was one of the unexpected highlights of my stay.
Michael brings a rare mix of positive energy, deep knowledge, and real human connection. From the start, he made the session feel tailored and personal. He’s not just running through exercises — he’s fully present, focused, and genuinely invested in helping you get the most out of yourself.
What stood out most: he cares. You feel it in the way he listens, motivates, and pays attention to every detail. He meets you where you are, challenges you with purpose, and makes the entire experience feel both professional and personal.
Coaches like Michael are rare — and the Grand Beach Hotel is lucky to have him. If you’re staying here and want to reset, move, or simply feel better in your body, I highly recommend booking a session. It’s more than a workout — it’s time well spent.

Location is amazing. Staff are really rude, and won’t accommodate even simple requests! Really bad experience overall, pre-paid for a 4 day stay and completely forfeited the last 2 days for the four seasons down the road, wouldn’t recommend.

Most of it was wonderful a couple things I didn’t like about it but all in all I had a nice time
Rooms: Well, my room had no view. One window had a parking lot view, and the other window was right next to another building full of vines no view.
