“We do not typically bank at Ameris. Our son, which lives in Georgia 7 hours away, was opening an account at his local branch and needed to add his dad and I to his account. We were unsure if this could be done without all three of us at the same location together. We explained the situation to Lise Smallwood, the branch manager, and she was able to assist us. She gathered our information and IDs, filled out the paperwork we needed was able to send that to my son's local Ameris bank for him to complete the process. Lisa was extremely helpful and very nice. “Why are the local branch phone numbers top secret? Why do you have to deal with an automated phone system that rarely has all the answers you need - when they even interpret what you said accurately. I understand the time it can take to talk to someone but at the very least have an option to speak to a human instead of having to try multiple times till the system does not understand you and finally, reluctantly transfer you to a live agent.”
