“Not long ago I was sharing about the loss of my friend Quiet Kitty who left behind his twin brother Talking Kitty. (The names were given in the Native American tradition of naming the outward character of the animal when first we meet them) Sadly. this morning, Talking Kitty was gently and kindly given the help to rest in eternity with his sister after having suffered an injury in the AM. My grateful thanks to my neighbor Julie and her wonderful Vet at Arbor Pet Hospital in Wilton Manors for their assistance and graciousness in seeing to a peaceful and dignified goodbye to a devoted friend. At my meeting this morning, one of the readings was about The Prayer of St Francis of Assisi and the power of LOVE. St Francis is the Patron Saint of Animals and I often remember his example of love and care for all of God's wondrous creatures. My roommate and I have gained far more examples of unqualified affection (love) from our now gone brother and sister cats then we could ever have imagined. “I'm only going to give 5 stars for the attention of the administration girls and Dr. Grisel Delafe, who are super friendly, and they make me feel so confident, I have already visited this clinic several times!! The truth is that I am disappointed in the attention of the dentist and the assistant, I don't know what tools she put in my mouth, it hurt a lot and I took it out and put it back in all the time because I didn't know how to fit it or I didn't know how it was going! (I hurt myself under my tongue and palate) the dental doctor didn't give me any solution!!! I went with my wisdom tooth in too much pain and he was not able to tell me what medications to buy and he told me to go to the emergency room in case I had an infection that they would treat me there!!! 1st, I pay for him to take care of me, not for him to send me to another place! I'm going so they can give me solutions! He only treated me for two seconds and hurt me and that's it!! What attention is that? Omg I don't recommend it, it's very expensive and even more so when you have to do a lot of studies!”

“If you want your dog to be treated like a prince, bring him to Dr. Lara's office. OMG my experience was extremely satisfactory. They treated my dog ​​amazingly with so much love in such a kind way. “This place absolutely delivered. My Dog DAVID (yes his name is David) a Cane Corso has been getting so much compliments about his perfectly cropped ears! Dr Raspberry’s team taped them week by week and at one point one ear was being stubborn so his vet team taped one of them extra and it absolutely came out perfect and my Dog was selected to be a model for the dog spa at a new property in Downtown Miami. Yes, that’s how thorough Dr Rasberry was with this ear-cropping. They would not stop taping the ears weekly until they were PERFECTLY EVEN.”

“Where do I begin…. First I need to give a major shout out to the girl who works at the front desk. I was referred to this vet by some people on Facebook, but her compassion and professionalism on the phone was what made all the difference for me. They were able to take me in on a fully booked Saturday and as I watched patient after patient go in, I saw with my own eyes how much everyone who works here cares for your pets like their own. From the vet techs (excuse me if I don’t know the correct terminology), to the nurses to the doctor.. Just absolutely compassionate and caring souls. Such a happy and caring environment all around. It even smells good in there which left me in shock because usually vets smell like.. well vets… lol. I left a very feral community cat there on a Saturday and called in Monday morning for an update on how he did over the weekend before the surgery was to take place. They told me they gave him his own exam room and dimmed the lights to make sure he felt safe away from other cats (are you kidding me, I love them) but that he was doing good and ate a lot. Afterwards, the doctor sat down with my neighbor who went to go pick him up, someone they had never met, and explained the entire X-ray to her. When I say they went above and beyond, I’m not exaggerating. The people who recommended them to me on Facebook had nothing but positive things to say and now I have nothing but positive things to say. Thank you so much for your hard work Dr. Melgey. I truly appreciate you. I appreciate your compassion during my visit and the love you have for animals. Thank you to everyone who works there, from the bottom of my heart.”

“Everyone is so compassionate and skilled. I brought my dog Bella there because she had a cyst (skin tag) under her chin that had a hole and was profusely bleeding. They took her in immediately and surgically removed it and she is doing amazing. Thank you so much for taking care if my Bella girl❤️”

I absolutely love this vet practice. I'm sad that Dr. Billhartz is no longer with Southport, however the rest of the amazing staff still is! My girl Gracie ABSOLUTELY LOVEEESSSS going to the vet! TRUST ME, her past vet records at another practice in Georgia tells a completely different story. Dr. Marlar is INCREDIBLE and her entire team is INCREDIBLE! I trust Murray with my babies more than I have ever trusted any other vet tech ever. He has an amazing way with the animals. Murray is amazing and so are the other vet techs there, as well. Everyone in that office genuinely cares deeply about the animals and their best wellbeing. The reception team is truly underrated! - even though everyone comments on how sweet and kind they are I don't feel those words describe them good enough - they are hands down the absolute best! They are soooooooo thoughtful, welcoming, helpful, funny and loving toward every animal that walks through their doors! I can't say enough great things about Southport but I feel that the fact that I felt the need to provide 3 reviews/updates should speak volumes. I absolutely recommend this vet practice 100%. I thank them for everything they've done for me and my beloved pets.

100% GREAT experience on 10/05/2022 - Lived in Fort Myers and when hurricane Ian hit and the entire swfl area lost power, all of the vet offices were closed and lost a lot of their medications. My 15yr old guy was needing his Cytopoint shot and Southport Animal Hospital did not hesitate when I called them and explained our circumstance and asked if they could help and give William his shot - they said no problem. We drove 2 hrs, walked in and within 15 mins we were out the door with William receiving his shot. They were so warm and welcoming and empathetic.

Now, fast forward to today - I permanently move to Fort Lauderdale and am in need of a vet for a new dog I adopted and my cat. Guess who I immediately call. You bet, Southport Animal Hospital! And let me tell you, with my new dog, Gracie, she has a history of aggression at her old vet office (her previous family made sure I had all of her records) ....so needless to say, I was so apprehensive about how her vet visit would go. So far, she has been to Southport Animal Hospital twice and saw Dr. Billhartz (LOVE HER!) and Dr. Bufalieri (LOVE HIM!) and both times Gracie walked out of the office confident and happy!!!! She loves loves loves Heather, Liz, and the whole reception team! And she loves Murray and all the techs!! I feel 100% confident that she is going to be taken care of properly with love, kindness and understanding of her fear issues. This office is such a blessing to me and Dr. Billhartz who is chief in command is just kindness and love. And the rest of her team reflect that. Amazing people in this office. Loving, kind and thoughtful people in this office. I'm so grateful for them all.”

“First thing is getting someone to answer the phone and scheduling is SUPER easy. That means a lot in a world where you can even hit "0" anymore to speak to someone! Just added an additional dog to the family and brought her in, and as usual, the service is top tier (wish I had this kind of ease at my doctor appts lol).
Very informative, not pushy on buying services (cause things are not cheap anymore). I will always recommend them!! Thank you.

“We love Margate Animal Hospital. We made an appointment with Cats Exclusive far in advance for a feral cat with a long standing injury. After hours working to trap the cat and driving 30 minutes for the appointment, CE cancelled our appointment upon arrival because their power went out. We would likely not have been able to retrap the cat again who since he was already so tense, so I immediately called MAH.

Mary was so understanding of our situation and squeezed us in within 15 minutes. Not knowing what to expect, we were quickly at ease when the doctor came into the exam room with two techs - one with elbow-high suede gloves and the other with a heavy blanket and cat leash. CE was going to sedate him before examining him and we were worried about it because he is an older cat. But MAH knew exactly how to prepare a feral for an exam without putting him under.

The doctor asked questions to come up with the best treatment plan as we would not have been able to administer oral mediation to the cat ourselves or nurse him since we have 4 of our own cats in our home. We decided to have them keep him at the hospital for 7 days so he could heal. We expected such a treatment plan because of the cats type of injury so this put us at ease as well.

In addition to daily updates from the staff, the doctor provided video and photos via text and responded directly to my questions. Be aware they do ask for payment upfront, but their prices are very reasonable. They also go over a detailed list of costs with you beforehand.”

“I take both of my dogs here. Their vet, Dr Rodriguez, is great. Today my friend had to take the dogs to their appointment (I was busy at work), and Dr Rodriguez and the staff were very good about explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and costs over the phone to me.”
