Acworth is a cute little town, where shops and restaurants line a main street along the railroad tracks that split the town. But to find Center Street Tavern, steer one block off Main Street, and behind the very popular Henry’s Louisiana Grill to arrive at a converted hardware store that offers good food and a lively atmosphere. We visited Center Street Tavern during the springtime Acworth Arts Festival, so it was unusually crowded for a late Saturday afternoon lunch. We were seated right away, and it was clear that the restaurant staff had been running hard for some time. We ordered drinks and a potato skin appetizer, then our lunches.I selected a mango habanero chicken sandwich from the weekly specials, and my wife chose the spinach tomato tortellini from the same menu. Our son went with his old standby – plain burger and fries.Food timing from the kitchen was unfortunate, as our appetizer arrived less than a minute before our full meals. But that’s the only complaint about what otherwise was a very good meal.My mango habanero chicken was cooked perfectly, hot and juicy and covered in a sauce that was heavier on the mango than the habanero. That made the sandwich easy to eat, without the overly-hot after burn that some habanero dishes deliver. My side of restaurant made potato chips were crispy and crunchy, though they had been held under a warming light and didn’t have the fresh temperature of just-fried potatoes. My wife was happy with her ample portion of tortellini, some of which travelled home with us and became a later meal for me. Our son’s burger was monster-size: thick and juicy, and served with hot, fresh-cut fried potatoes. While this was our first visit, we’ll be back as we’re in Acworth frequently to enjoy the nearby lake and walking trails. Center Street Tavern will be on our “come back soon” list.

We absolutely love this place and we visit on a regular basis. It can get loud depending on the entertainment for the evening. The food is fantastic!

Reasonable prices. Service is a bit slow here. But the prices for a cute downtown area like this is hard to beat. Lots of good choices. Standard American type food. The sweet potato fries are worth the $1 upgrade.

A locals hangout, that's why they can have poor service and at best average food and still get repeat business. The live music is probably keeping this place open

Cozy, intimate place. Band was an 80s tribute hairband. Our second time there. Staff was efficient and quick given the venue was filled to capacity. The only drawback, not near my house.
