“We just stayed here recently for a friends wedding and had the most wonderful experience. Starting with service, we had some changes in our flights that were beyond our control. Michelle at the front desk went above and beyond to accommodate us, getting us into our room and even mapping out things for us to do. I would come back just from the hospitality alone. Rooms were great and the location is central to everything that we didn't need to even uber most of the locations. Will definitely be returning”

“They redid the hotel since I was last there a long time ago. It's very nice and they had good food in the restaurant. It was nice. I'd stay there again.”

“This was our second visit to Athens House (in town for Thanksgiving). We had a lovely stay in the cottage room. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, and the peaceful, secluded location made it feel like a true getaway. The cottage itself offered just the perfect amount of space, and the charming clawfoot tub was a wonderful touch. The owners are also fantastic—quick to respond to questions and always ready to assist when needed. Highly recommend for a relaxing and comfortable stay!”

“I've stayed here a couple times now for work and it's been pleasant both times. Rooms are have a nice desk and working space. Only about 5 minutes from downtown”

“Excellent location, directly across from the arena. The ladies at the front desk were super sweet! Using the elevators is kind of confusing. We could definitely use some directions posted. Loved the pool table in the common area!”

“Our room was haunted. I do recommend this hotel, just not room 525. There was what sounded like a whistling sound and when it got quiet, it sounded like more of a howl. I could hear it from the hallway as well. No other rooms seemed to have this problem.
The breakfast buffet was phenomenal though, which I believe made up for our room being haunted.
My other issue I had was the guy at the front desk told us the parking was on him as a gift to us since it was our anniversary. They still changed us though.”

“I stayed at this hotel for three nights. Check-in was extremely easy, and everyone at the desk was very friendly and helpful in finding my way around campus. Upon arrival I was given coupons for free coffee at the bulldog bistro as well as free breakfast for every morning of my stay. Parking was in a university parking lot just across from the hotel. However keep in mind that parking is not free! On the morning of my check out, an employee had slid an invoice for 30$ of parking fees- which would have been nice to know about beforehand.Otherwise, the hotel was great! The king bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the fitness room was nice. The free breakfast was also great! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to visit UGA.”

“This is a condo, not a hotel, and that makes it a great place for a family travelling together. We had a three bedroon, three bath with kitchen and living room which allowed six of us to socialize and hang out together. You just can't do that in a hotel. The condo is in downtown Athens, close to restaurants and bars and near the UGA campus. You can walk to almost everywhere you want to go. We have travelled for years an always get a condo when there are several of us. A hotel is okay for a place to sleep but a condo allows for spending time together in a place with sufficient room.”

“I grew up traveling across the country with my parents and it probably stayed at 300 or more hotels during my lifetime and I can honestly say this exceed my expectations. Not only are the owners here friendly and courteous but work very hard to make sure your needs are met. I've never engaged owners of a hotel that are as nice as these people. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyoneBrandy LloydRooms: Clean, efficient, and maeets your needsNearby activities: Georgia Square Mall is directly across the street and you have several restaurants surrounding the propertySafety: Have literally left with my door open one time unknowingly and nothing in my room was Disturbed when I came back”

“This is a solid comfort inn. Rooms are good and comfortable. Service is always very friendly. Parking can get tricky sometimes. Ive stayed here several times and on a couple of occasions, it can get super crowded with work trucks. Its a little tricky to get in and out during traffic times as well.”

“I had a peaceful and restful stay, I love that it was in the cut basically hidden behind Sonic. Very good customer service with very comfortable beds decent rooms. Breakfast, pool, gym. Outside deck with grills, info for trails, eventhough you can walk right outside the property and connect to the Candlewood Suites. Right off the major highway road to so many popular restaurants stores and banks. A hidden gem reasonably priced.”

“Stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms, it was well done. The fitness center is small but at least they have one. The biggest problem with the hotel is the location, this is an area where the unhoused congregate. It's close to UGA campus but you will not want to walk. Just plan on driving. I never felt unsafe but changed my mind about walking.

Water pressure very good.

I will mention there was a residue on the floor that I think was from the remodeling process but room otherwise felt clean.”

“Room was clean and smelled fresh. One of the bedside lamps wasn't working, making the room a bit dim. Also, there was no cable, only basic channels, and even those didn't come in clear.”

“We had stayed in the newer tower section for our stay. I was a little hesitant booking at this hotel due to some of the reviews, but the staff were extremely friendly at the front counter and made the checking in and out as easy as possible. The rooms were average for this price range but were very clean which was our main concern. In my opinion, even though we only experienced the tower section, I would say it deserves a better star category rating. We definitely recommend to others, and I would definitely book here again in the future.”

“Jessica and Lola made our stay magical! Thank you both for making our daughter’s 16th Birthday so special and going above and beyond to make our stay so memorable! The hospitality, food, and cleanliness were unmatched!”

“Soooo I was enjoying a day of peacefully driving trying to find the Green Speckled SEagullcatcher SHarkfish at my local aquarium to pick up for my homemade organic acrylic glass tank 67 gallon fish tank, but my trip was stopped short when my lamborghini urus broke down. I quickly had to scurry to find a fitting and beautiful hotel, which is surely what i found!
It was so luxury, I drank my morning matcha for the 41 hours i stayed there. After, the owners and staff said farewell and i got back on the road in my second car, the La Rose Noire Droptail Rolls Royce. Anyway, I can't wait for my third car, my 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé to break down so i can stay in this splendid abode.”

“The owners who you will most likely meet here are incredibly friendly, accommodating, and welcoming.

I ended up here in the middle of what is essentially a Midway point crisis between living arrangements. That required me to have some discreetness about where I stay for the safety of myself and family. Something that if you are in the same circumstance you just tell the staff when you check in let them know and they're more than likely to be respectful of it and not give out your name to just anyone who's asking where you are and what room you're in. It's a really important safety measure for people that have endured things like human trafficking, for one.

I haven't included them on that knowledge and haven't felt that I needed to since coming back for this most recent stay.

Back to the review, the actual property is beautiful, especially for the cost. The room that I have currently is extremely nice for the cost that it takes to per night to stay here. There's a desk, TV, bed and room to walk. The shower is decent, it has curtains that bow out so if it's easier to fit in there while you shower and not have to squeeze your shoulders.

More than anything, the staff has just been fantastic in communication with me over every minor little thing that I've talked with him about from forgetting my stylist to my tablet to just needing time to charge my phone in order to book my stay here. I wasn't hassled or hurried or anything. And in fact the gentleman that I believe is the manager here came by around the corner and offered to make coffee for me.

Mind you I had to take the bus here and carry luggage. That was way too heavy for me so I showed up really sweaty and not exactly the most presentable that I can or could be. Sometimes you'll find judgment on your appearance where you go and here was not one of those places.

If I had to sum it up in a term, this is a human first business. And the experience that I've had staying here currently at this location and locations in the past. Regardless of exigent circumstances that are in existence but have nothing to do with the company itself.

I just felt this would be important to give a review here as I'm standing outside looking at the pool that I wish I had taken time to go to when it was sunny. And the courtyard which is well mowed. All of the hedges are trend and the grass is green. They've done a good job here with maintenance and appearance and it shows.

So that sums it up. The location being a three star is just because local anything is not near here. Meaning the areas that you're most likely visiting this city for are not right down the road, which isn't really something that should matter all that much. But it's worth being specific and accurate.

Hopefully anyone reading this gains faith and their future stay here and I hope all who reads this is all well and good in their life.

- Matt”

“I had to leave a few hours after I checked in and could not stay the night. The front desk manager gave me a full refund even though I did not ask for one. I really appreciated the kindness.”
