This is the worst bank I’ve ever had the displeasure of being member! This bank is no different then your local mafia. The most predatory policies and worst customer service I’ve ever had with a bank. I’ve had representatives not know what there talking about giving false info to representatives out right hanging up in my face. This bank will restrict all your access to your own accounts if u fall even one payment behind on any loans or credit cards. I have a 10k LOE that they refuse to send me a new card for because I was late on a car loan . So basically I can’t even access the line of credit I was approved for lol .Not only that they also refuse to send me a debit card to access my own account!! They will also send rude threatening letters regarding late payments. I’ve never experienced any of this with any other bank. It has been truly a shock to deal with these people. Don’t not fall for any of their warm slogans do not bank with this credit union.

I have been with this Credit Union for the last 4 almost 5 years and I'm never going back to a regular bank! The service and support that I have received both in person and virtually has been second to none. This location, while a little difficult to reach, is most convenient to my job. I haven't had any issues and the representatives I've gotten are always friendly and helpful. Love it!

Closing account after having account with ACU for over 45 years. They froze the use of my debit card without informing me, causing embarrassment and extra time and trouble to make a payment to a doctor. The reason for the "freeze" was because I had not used the card for 2 months.. UNACCEPTABLE! Additionally, ACU has become more greedy than banks which is apparent with their policies. Bye ACU! NEVER AGAIN.

The loan officer assigned to my mortgage application, J. Pearson, did not create a good experience for me. I sent him an email asking him a question about my application nearly a month ago and he still hasn't responded. Also, the other lenders I applied to would call me once per week to see how the home search was going and would promptly respond to calls and emails and answer any questions I had. The other lenders were also available outside of normal business hours. J. Pearson did no check ups to see how the process was going, did not promptly respond to emails, did not answer all of my questions, and did not appear to be available outside of normal business hours. As a result, I chose another mortgage lender and am closing in 2 weeks!

I was informed there was not one ACU that is able to cash a check that is drawn on their bank if you are not a member. I had to ask their member not to write me a check from them again.

Big banks may be evil, but this credit union is worse, whether intentional or just incredibly inept. Wanted to refinance my mortgage but in order to do so here you have to open 2 accounts first - a membership account and a checking account - with a $25 deposit. When I tried to open the required accounts online (branch offices closed at the time due to Covid) I kept having technical issues and the mortgage people shrugged and said "call tech support". Which I did. For a week or two. Never got a response. Never got an indication that they opened the accounts even though I never got all the way through the process. Meanwhile I got a new mortgage elsewhere. All of a sudden I started getting statements from ACU with $8 per month in fees for paper statements and a monthly service charge. I was away from Atlanta for a bit but when I tried to close the accounts remotely they told me I had to come into a branch. I was finally able to get into a branch and when I explained my issue and request to close the account, they shrugged, gave me back the few dollars that remained after all their fees and closed the account. Unless you're a masochist who likes to pay for people to shrug at you and not help even when you're asking to do business with them, then do yourself a favor and avoid ACU.

I’m so grateful for ACU on N. Druid Hills and every branch I’ve gone to. Each branch and their employees are outstanding in every level of the service, financial planning, saving and debt reduction. I’ve been a member since 1986 and ACU has been there when I was a newlywed, a new mom needing help save for class trips etc. As a 40 something divorcée, with safeguarding my account and refinancing my home, in buying my cars through Carfinders and Carvana, and now as a senior with my retirement. ACU has been there for me down through the years protecting my hard earned money. I’m grateful for every ACU employee and yes I do have my favorites (you know who you are) and thank you all for the superior service you give everyday!

At first this credit union was good, not great but good I have been a member for over five years and had one loan through them for a motorcycle, I sold the bike after a year and paid the loan off, no problem then when I tried to get a personal loan filling out the application online this is were their online process go askew, evidently I wanted more then they allow but how am I to know this when the online application does not stipulate a limit, then my cosigner who is my grandfather who has over a 800 credit rating was denied since he does not live in the same house as me, this was ludicrous why would he live here, makes no sense and he had never heard this. Well all in all I am moving my account to another institution so are my father and step mother. I also plan to contact Clark Howard consumer hotline and tell them the horror it is to do any business with this credit union
