The Augusta Riverwalk is a beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy a walk along the Savannah River. It features gorgeous river views, a well-kept and spacious area, and a nice art museum right on the site. The Riverwalk is generally quiet and not crowded, making it a perfect spot to relax, stroll, and take in the scenery. During the summer, the farmers market with fresh produce and local vendors adds a lively touch. It’s also a popular spot for running and attending various events, especially in the evening when the breeze from the lake makes it even more enjoyable. Visitors should check parking options beforehand, as it can be limited. The area has experienced some setbacks, including damage from a hurricane that left trees down and the playground fenced off and in need of repairs. Despite this, recent efforts have helped improve safety and restore the space. There is a shop at the end of the walk offering water, ice cream, and bathrooms, which are convenient for visitors. Overall, the Augusta Riverwalk is a scenic and relaxing spot that offers a good mix of nature, art, and community activities. With some ongoing improvements, it remains an enjoyable destination for locals and visitors alike.
Make sure to scout parking before you head to the riverwalk, but it’s well worth a visit, and there is a nice art museum right on the riverwalk we enjoyed.

It is a nice walk by the river. Nice park but needs some upkeep. Beware of the gnats as they were driving me crazy!
