“Y'ALL. These guys are so awesome and kind. Let me tell y'all a story:Someone dumped a cat on our road and she found her way to our home. Shortly after she showed up, she got really hurt. And I mean, really hurt. Her back foot had gotten degloved. I ended up bringing her here and he took care of her. After doing some research after dropping her off, (I don't suggest looking up that kind of injury) I really thought he was going to have to amputate. After a long, 3 month recovery, she got to keep her leg. Considering the kind of injury she had, the scarring is actually pretty minimal.”
“Absolutely love Southwood! Dr Lewis has been caring for our 2 elderly kitties since we lived here 3 years ago. The staff is always loving, and careful with them, and we especially love the front desk receptionist Nanette! She is always so helpful and kind.. Dr Lewis has been a Godsend! “I usually go to Gordon because they are cheaper but then I found Houston a vet clinic and I’ve been bringing my dog here ever since. I’ll pay the price tag to get the kind of compassion and care they give my dog. The dr is very thorough and always makes sure you have your questions asked and answered. Not only that but the dr is one you can email with questions and he responds even on weekends. How awesome is that!? They treat your dog with care and respect and I couldn’t have asked for a better vet clinic. I trust them 100% even after only 6 mo. Thanks y’all for being so good to my sweet girl.”

“Full disclosure, I use to work here. There’s no one else that I would trust with the care of my pets. You’ll never find more caring doctors and staff! Even after I moved away, I still drove 3.5hrs back for follow-up care with my cat. I wish I could have taken the whole clinic with me when I moved. As a former employee and now a client, I have seen both sides of this clinic. I’m telling you, you can trust them to treat your pet with dignity and respect all while receiving top-notch care.”
“Dr.Griffin is a great vet. He saved our chi when she had parvo, 15 years later we still take her there. Very reasonable prices. They are hard to get on the phone unless you call early. And I'm pretty sure since covid, you have to make an appt.”
“I've been using southwood since 2020 and they were okay I guess but pricey. I suddenly had to take my cat, sid, here for a uti and blockage and they are amazing. I am Immediately impressed here, one visit was all it took for me to switch vets. Not only very friendly and professional, but very understanding of financial situations. They worked with me greatly on the price. Maddi is a wonderful tech too. Definitely recommend.”

“The nurses help people out with their pets getting them signed in and checked out. Doctors talk with the owners about what is going on with the animals. Their check up they do is understandable and great. If I had to recommend the place to anyone I totally would.”
“We started taking our Coco to Critter Fixer recently, after moving to the area. It is important that wherever we take our fur baby, they also offer boarding. Unfortunately, Coco has digestive issues, and if we ever have to board him, we would rather have him at a veterinary hospital that is familiar with his medical needs. The staff is always friendly, and the veterinarians take their time when telling us exactly what needs to be done to keep our little one in the best health. My husband and I had a couple of occasions outside of Coco's annual visits where our pup needed medical care, and Critter Fixer was able to accommodate us within hours. Their boarding service is reasonably priced, and they even take the dogs on daily walks during boarding so they can get some exercise. I'm not sure what the boarding facilities look like, but I will say that my Coco did not seem traumatized after his stay, so it must have been decent. My only issue is that it is not easy to get them on the phone. They have a phone service that answers and will try to transfer you, and if no one answers, they take a message and have the office call you back. Since we live about 10 minutes away, usually my husband will drive to their office to schedule appointments, but it is definitely inconvenient and annoying. Overall, we are pleased with the service and glad to have a place to take our fur baby for all his needs.”
“I’ve been taking all my pets to Smith Animal Hospital since 1987. It’s recently changed hands, and I miss Felix and Ben very much, but many of the same people who were with them still work there. We still get awesome care there. Dr. Kristen is especially wonderful.”

“I called, absolutely panicking, to let them know I was on the way. While trying to hold a dying puppy and drive a stick shift and give them my information, they let me know they found my account from a few years ago and had everything I needed just told me to get there and drive safe.When I came in I gave them my name, they were aware of the situation and took her directly back. They were matter of fact about cost and very transparent about everything, and to be honest it was all reasonably priced.I was sat down and talked to by the veterinarian within about 30 minutes of dropping Marmite off, which is way faster than other after hours services I have used.They also have TEXT UPDATES!!! Which is so great for a worrier like me.If you have a pet emergency, you won’t be reading reviews before you go, but if for some reason you are- your pup will be well taken care of here. ? ❤️ #nomv”
