“An inexpensive motel close enough to my granddaughter's home so we can celebrate my great-grandson's 1st birthday. Room is clean, great TV channels, room air that you can set to your comfort level, everything I need.”
“Wow! More than I expected. The warm hospitality of this family, who runs this bed and breakfast is unmatched in my travels. I wish I could have stayed forever. They home cook breakfast for you every morning and their pancakes are to die for! I had Bueberry, Walnut, Apple, and Sweet potato! Scramble eggs with cream cheese and a selection of fruits and meats and all the extras where fantastic! Coffee great too! Touches of Germany everywhere and you can even eat your breakfast outside next to the Koy waterfall/pond. I stayed in the Black Forest Cabin and it was hard to leave every day to go out and explore the the Helen. The family made you feel like you were at home away from home. They constantly asked if you need anything, just let us know! When I arrived, they walked me around and showed me everything and then, they also took time to show all the hot spots around Helen on a map. I've never had a hotel go into that depth to make sure their customers are happy. Stationed in Germany for 6 and a 1/2 years I definitely felt I went back in time! Thank you Terry, Angie and Denise! God bless you all and I will definitely be back!

“2 sisters wanting a day to themselves.
Rooms: My sister and I wanted a day to ourselves so we ended up in Helen Ga., It's such a beautiful ❤️ little town. All the people are so friendly. The room was excellent and the view of the creek was so pretty. We will definitely be coming back and we will try to get this room. Absolutely love it.
Nearby activities: Walking in and out of the store was a treat.
Safety: People are respectful about looking out for each other.
Walkability: Perfect for walking.
Food and drinks: Any kind of food or drinks is at your finger tips”
“Helen Georgia is a quaint American/German town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s not a large town so you can see most things in a few days. There is even a Festhalle for their Oktoberfest in September. I know, the dates sound messed up. You can choose from multiple places to stay from hotels to bed & breakfasts. The numerous restaurants of different cultures give you just the place for what you crave. The German restaurants are the showcase restaurants of the town since they are a recreation of a German town. The many shops and bakers round out the list of things central to the town.
I will start with the place we stayed, the Valhalla Resort Hotel. Located at the resort are the Solasta Spa, Caledonia Fine Dining, Sky Bar Bistro, Staghorn Grill & Pizzeria, and golf. The resort is a little out of town in the adjacent hills. The roads are narrow in some places, with tight turns, and sudden stop signs. You pass a guard shack for the entrance to the resort area where you show why you are entering. The driveway to the hotel door circle is narrow and a tight turn. The outside of the hotel is very plain. One of the great perks of the hotel is the free valet parking, just tip and go. The lobby is open, well-lit, and clean. Check-in was easy and our bags were taken to our room. The hotel also has 3 Tesla charging stations. The resort is handicap accessible.
We were in a penthouse deluxe king room. The room is large with everything we needed, a TV in the living room area and one in the bedroom area but there is no streaming service. You can watch movies offline from a USB device if you bring one. There is a gas fireplace with a timer, a two-sink bathroom, a safe, a fridge, a snack basket, and a large shower. There is no ice machine. If you want ice, you have to call the valet. There is a desk and chair in the living area. The couch and chair are comfortable. The sofa is soft, but not to the point I would consider excessive. There are plenty of plug-ins on the lamps but no USB ports. The bed and pillows are comfortable. They are soft but not excessive. The air-conditioner is close to the bed. I found it a little noisy when trying to sleep. We enjoyed sitting outside on the small balcony. There are 2 chairs and a table. The pool area is well set up with a grill area, cabanas, and poolside seating. The view from our room is breathtaking watching the sunrise over the mist-filled Blue Ridge Mountains. We had a very nice stay at the Valhalla Resort. I would stay there again if I went back to Helen.”

“We stayed in the king bungalow room with a full kitchen and spacious living room area, complete with a reclining couch and chair. The bedroom was a good size, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was pretty standard. Everything, for the most part, seemed new or nearly new.
Close to everything but not in the middle of it. FYI: The driveway up to the motel is pretty steep, which makes walking up it after a night at the beer halls or bars a little challenging. We would stay again.”

“The location is in the downtown area of helen ga. Near all the shops and park area. Parking in the town itself is very limited and you have to pay 10.00 to park so it was helpful to be able to walk to places to visit. The room we had, had two queen beds. It came with limited cable television and a small refrigerator. Overall the room was comfortable, but the beds are kind of hard. The indoor pool is kind of small but was clean. They also have a small work out room.”
“Our little family went on summer vacation here for the past a few days and we had made the right choice this was an awesome spot for a perfect vacation and even though it wasn't a 5star hotel it's still an affordable vacation spot pool wasn't open but we had fun enjoying the river definitely will be coming back soon rooms was clean the man that owns the hotel was very nice and friendly we had an amazing time the whole little town is so cute”
“Front desk was nice. Management was nice. Rooms were fine. The people above us (i.e. young adults - loud, stomping around the room like they had concrete blocks on their feet, no regards or considerations to those around trying to sleep) kept us up until 2:00am even after multiple calls to management and someone (not us) even called the cops. After all the reviews stating that you'd get kicked out if you said so much as a peep, I was thinking they would be a lot more strict on the noise. This wasn't even in peak season and was after Oktoberfest. Again, rooms great, no issues, but the other tenants were terrible.
Rooms: Simple, clean but dated, no mold or bugs, TV was tiny, beds were comfortable, heater worked very well, showers had great water pressure and got super hot.
Nearby activities: Mini golf, escape room, ax throwing, abstract painting, shopping
Safety: Female traveler with young teen daughter - never felt unsafe - but I do carry.
Walkability: You can walk anywhere from here! We only stayed one night, but walked to mini golf and across the street to Bonnie's Kitchen for breakfast.
Food and drinks: Several restaurants surrounding the hotel and within a short 5 min walk.
Noteworthy details: Stay on the top floor. If you are on the bottom floor you hear everything above you.”
“The guy that runs this is a great guy and they have just totally renovated they have new vanities they have new paint inside and out all new bedding and mountain views walk too fast food liquor store within walking distance so this is a good place.”
