“I would first like to state that the quality of the store is immaculate, however my experience here yesterday was sullied because of three employees who decided to not only RACIALLY PROFILE my family and I but also ECONOMICALLY PROFILE me. What started as a trip to the store for my four children to go in and pick up a few items for our Saturday, ended with my oldest daughter expressing to me that she didn’t like how they thought we were stealing and she’s only 9, to have observed what was being done. As we were checking out my register was locked by an associate. Conveniently enough the three that had just been gathered around the registers all dispersed and were no where to be found. Once an employee showed up, he witnessed my scanned items placed in the bag on the counter, my cart which still had items to be scanned, and THREE candy necklaces I was in the process of scanning. He proceeds to ask me if we are done checking out before entering his log in to allow us to continue our purchase. STRIKE 1. After he enters his log in he looks on the screen to see what was scanned then proceeds to rifle through the bag sitting on the registers counter. STRIKE 2. I grab the bag to proceed to another register to continue my purchase because it became apparent what his assumption were. Lo and behold I was locked out of that register as well after attempting to scan one of the candy necklaces. I turned and asked if the reason I am being locked out is because of something with the product. HE THEN TAKES ALL THREE NECKLACES FROM ME, TAKES THRM TO THE BACK OF THE STORE AND RETURNS WITH ONE AND ANOTHER PIECE OF CANDY I NEVER HANDED HIM. He asks if he could scan the items himself, I politely told him I no longer even wanted the items. He turns around to ask me how many of the necklaces we had, I answered, and he then proceeds to ask me where the other two were. As a reminder I handed all three to him before he went to the back of the store so here we are at STRIKE 3! At this point I’m heated because I am with my kids experiencing not only an inconvenience in the midst of a outing for them, but an encounter I never thought could happen to us. Especially in a shop as inexpensive as this store. We watched several customers check out yesterday morning with no issues. It is unfortunate that my experience was ruined because of those three employees ( 2 African American females and 1 African American male) saw me and my family and decided based off what they perceived us to be, to make an example of us in front of other customers in the store. It was beyond humiliating and upsetting for my children to have been left with this impression once we PAID for the items and left.”

“It is good and the economy is notable, but there is insufficient merchandise in the refrigerators. Sometimes they have limited staff and I don't know why they don't have bilingual staff. They must improve. Although it still projects economy.”

“Sometimes you just want to run in and run out and not have to go to busy Wal-Mart. Good experience here. The manager greeted me immediately as i walked in and the young lady cashier greeted me and even told a joke or two and was very prompt in serving me. They acted like they were happy to be at work.”
“I got my vanity today and when the men were loading it into my truck, they asked me do I have help when I get home to get it out of the truck. Of course, I said, no but I'll be ok. They both said no ma'am, we'll ride with you and put it in the house, and you can bring us back. They went inside, told the store manager, and he agreed completely. They all said the owner of the store wouldn't want us to leave you hanging like that, we're here to help you. I will be a customer forever. And can't wait to see what next week's truck brings to the store.”
“This place is really good considering the lack of staff when I went a few times. Most of the store was clean with a few wrappers on the ground but the staff did offer to help find things for me multiple times.”

“It has occurred to me that when we experience customer service that goes above and beyond the company's expectation as well as the customers', there is not a way to acknowledge the employee who really should be given praise for her OUTSTANDING customer service there are plenty of websites to file a complaint but I could not find where to notify a regional manager or human resources about an employee who went above and beyond the requirements of her job as a cashier at Dollar General on Victory Dr. In Columbus Ga. She sincerely cares about the safety of the customera leaving her store at closing time. I was taking an Uber when I left right at closing time. She immediately appeared concerned when she noticed I wasmt driving. She walked me outside after I told her I didn't need to wait inside. A couple minutes after she went back in, she came back out to inform me I had left an item I had just purchased at the register. When I came inside, she inquired as to the whereabouts of my ride and wanted t know what kind of vehicle. This might seem a little intrusive except for the fact that the location of this particular store is not in a very safe area of the city, and like she pointed out, I am a female alone holding my wallet in my hands. She even added that it was more important that I'd be safe than she clocked out on time. Despite the fact that she was a young woman who was done her shift, she had absolutely no problem waiting until I was able to get my ride and be safely on my way home, before starting her closing routine. So when I came back in for my item that I left I ended up waiting inside the store, per her request, and she locked the front doors and was watching out for my Uber. When it was time to leave she double-checked that I had the right vehicle and she walked me out. I will not add her name on here, but she closed the Victory Dr store on Wed night. I strongly believe that Dollar general or any business for that matter, is a better more customer friendly, safer, and welcoming place because of her. What she offers to Dollar General as an employee cannot be taught or trained. It is my opinion that she should be considered for a management position as other employees should look to her as an example of how to treat the customers of Dollar General as well as making it a safe and welcoming place to go late at night, without being too concerned about the side of town that the store is located on. Thank you for being such a caring wonderful woman, and an awesome cashier!”
“I really like Roses.They are currently refreshing the store and adding new inventory. Reasonable prices. Staff is nice. My find on this trip was getting some Mum's. Their are plants are easy one the pocketbook. However I have noticed a price increase on alot of items ,blame it on today's economy. Go stroll for a little exercise, you may find
your diamond in the rough?. Senior citizen discount on Wednesdays. Why not a 5 star. The pallets of new inventory blocking the aisles.”
“This is my FAVORITE DG in Columbus!! I have NEVER had a bad experience here. The ladies are always very sweet and knowledgeable. They're helpful, the store is neat. The lines may get backed up for a little bit but never anything too long and most times it's out of their hands. I just love it here, I shop at this store maybe 3 times a week or more because of the convenience. I can always count on them being open for my last minute needs and even if they're working a major holiday, they do it with a smile!! These ladies deserve a raise so corporate I hope that you read these reviews by your customers and act accordingly! ? Keep up the great work guys!!”
“I shop DG regularly in Texas but while visiting my daughter I told her that they are carrying home decor items now. I had come to help my daughter decorate her home since recently moving to Ft. Benning. This location had the best stuff!!! We found some beautiful items for her home that look just as good as anything from Hobby Lobby or any other home decor store.”
