“They're only a drop-off location. They cannot produce a label for you, nor do they have FedEx boxes for sale. They do have some shipping supplies for sale in their stationary section. Your package needs to be ready for shipment with a label. If you have a return and a QR code, they can print the label. Otherwise, the label needs to be printed, or you can submit and pay for a photo order to have it printed there.”
“I posted a review here last year but deleted it, so I’m posting another one, a final one. First of all I wish we could do reviews without rating, just listing pros and cons but that’s not the case. This is not a 5 star company, not in my opinion, but I give it 5 stars because they hired me the first time in February of 23 when nobody would even look at me, because I haven’t driven in a while, though I had at least 2 million safe miles on my belt but because it wasn’t anything recent, I was unhirable, even though everything was clean, MVR, PSP/CSA, Clearinghouse. The 5 star is mainly because of Larry, a good Christian man, their safety and hiring person.
I left them the first time after only a couple of months because they threw me under the bus. Hauling produce we’re allowed 150 air miles exemption to and from shipper and also receiver and I was told that if I get a ticket for that, they’d pay and go to court. They didn’t. The ticket was for something that was legal as you can see on what the cop wrote. So I left after coming back to the yard. I came back in March of 24 and left again in August, mainly because of health issue ( boil on my back ). A couple of months later they rehired me and I ran till February of this year.
Now, when I quit, I don’t give any notices. Everybody wants their employees to give them 2 weeks notice or something but how many of those employers will give any notice when they terminate their employees for any reason?! Very few if any, so it’s only fair we do the same.
That being said, I always finish my job, my loads, my commitments, turn in the truck, keys, fuel card etc. I don’t abandon equipment or quit under the load and I don’t refuse any loads when I’m on the road. So when I leave, it’s not like I went home and they’re expecting me back and I didn’t. No, one way or another they know I’m not coming back.
As far as the company goes, they don’t pay much, way below the industry standards. They’re a team company with 20 trucks but I ran solo. They paid me 23% of their rates, not the load rates they get paid. Going out it comes out to 30 cpm and 40cpm or so coming back. Teams split 32% of the same rates as far as I know. They haul carpets and flooring from Dalton to points west and produce coming back to GA, FL, NC. They pay everything when you come back. Either by direct deposit or check. They take out GA taxes.
Now, I’m the kind of person that will go above and beyond if necessary but I will not be used. If somebody says they’re gonna do something, I expect them to honor it just like I do. To me you’re only worth as much as your word. Now, I understand things happen that make it hard or impossible to keep it and I understand that but when it happens, I expect people to own it, not blame you.
When I left the last time I wasn’t planning it. I did ask to have more time off between trips but that’s because I barely had any between some of them. I’ve asked them more than once that if the money isn’t in my account when I’m back to make a check instead, because a few times the direct deposit wasn’t there and I had to wait a day, two or so. It may not seem like a big deal, especially when other companies don’t even pay on return but when you pay a certain way, people are counting on it in the the same way you’re counting on any other payday.”
“When you can't find something at a Dollar General, try looking at this on in Bryman's Plaza. We can usually find what we need here.Be a faithful customer and they give you $5.00 off $25.00 on the following Saturday purchase. We have saved so much money by doing this. And, if you really want to add to the savings, join the Dollar General App and you can clip coupons. This building does have wheelchair accessibility into the store as well as there being wide aisles that will accomodate them. There is no public bathroom.”
“Walked right in and theu scanned my barcode from my phone printed a label and gave me my receipt. No wait no hassle. Now this is not always the case I have had to wait a few min while other people completed their transaction but it's a fast place. The parking lot is big and busy it's located right in the middle of a shopping plaza and has resdurants pet shop and groceries along with a Gass station”
“Not a bad place to pick up. I got there a little early but they got me loaded and out of there within an hour. They don’t have a traditional dock, just a concrete pad to back up to but there is plenty of room.”
“I had to find somewhere that could and would fax a copy of my late husbands death certificate to a specific dept. At the SSA. And. I had no clue what I was doing. But all I had to do was walk inside ask someone for help and they did the rest. They made everything so easy , it took all the stress and anxiety away. I say ty an gratitude to them for that.
Oh ... And it didn't cost but a little over $1.00.”
