“This is a great facility that allocates dog and cat food for owners. They also allow volunteers to help out with the animals. You will have to contact the facility about the process of this. GPS will take you directly here just be sure not to pass it because.it sits back off from the street view unless making a left turn in.”

“I've been to a couple of other places and this is the first one I've come to where it seems like the staff are genuinely interested in helping you. The income-based fees are extremely manageable as well.Update 7/20/23: I was a patient her a few years ago and it was so great. I recently called to find out obtaining medical records and the woman on the phone was incredibly condescending, impatient and rude. I just ended the call because I have neither the time nor the patience for that nonsense. She’s probably not a great person to be “assisting” folks that are trying to IMPROVE their mental health.”

“The Lou Walker center is a great place to be. They have everything in there. We have to be 55 and old and older. They have pottery class taekwondo photography. They have the traveling club. They celebrate people's birthdays there. They have all kind of events. I have golfing lessons, computer glasses for beginners and advance. They have advanced photography, intermediate photography and basic photography. Great place to be and many many other things. Take care everybody”
“Love this location for donation drop-off, you can't expect everyone to be friendly and upbeat all the time especially in the rain. They were helpful.
Shopping Location looks abandoned, but it's very much open, from 10am-6pm.
No just dumping stuff.”

“Took my grandkids today. We usually go to the Ely for indoor swimming, this was a real treat. Pool clean. Tables and chairs for having snacks, play ground area for the younger kids to go doing the top of the hour when the pool is closed 15 min. for adult swimming. Great addition for Y members.”

“Always a well-kept store, clothing generally well organized (obviously some rude customers put stuff down wherever they want), and the thing that I really appreciate is when books are arranged by author in sets. It can be a chore to look through every book for an author, but in this store the books are mostly sorted and organized. The people are always nice and helpful as well.”

I want to give a BIG shoutout to the management and entire team at the Goodwill in Ellenwood!
When the store first reopened after the upgrades, I’ll admit—I wasn’t sold. A lot of the collectibles and secondhand treasures I loved digging through were gone, the shelves felt empty, and some of the newer merchandise made me wonder, Wait a minute…are we still at Goodwill?
But I said then that I was going to keep coming back because this is my Goodwill, and I’m so glad I did.
As the weeks and months have gone by, I’ve really come to appreciate what the new management and leadership have done with this store. The difference is noticeable.
The secondhand items are now displayed like I’m shopping in a department store. They’ve created tables and styled displays, coordinating different pieces together in ways that actually make you stop and look. You can tell somebody is paying attention to what people donate and thinking about how to present it. Sometimes I feel like y’all have a personal stylist back there picking things out for me!
It feels like shopping in a little boutique full of one-of-a-kind finds—and I LOVE THAT.
And I can’t leave out the associates! The customer service is always friendly. Everyone is kind, helpful, and willing to laugh right along with me.
Listen, I run my mouth when I’m relaxed and feel comfortable. So if I’m standing at the register talking and laughing, and by the time I leave y’all know what I’m doing for the rest of the day, where I’m going on vacation, and what I’m buying everything for—that means y’all are doing a good job! I always feel welcomed when I shop here, and I genuinely appreciate that.
I also have a lot of respect for Goodwill’s mission and the employment opportunities they provide. Once I learned more about how Goodwill helps people prepare for employment, get into the workforce, and creates opportunities for people to work, it gave me an even greater appreciation for shopping there. I’m not just there because I love finding a bargain or a one-of-a-kind treasure. I also respect knowing that the organization is helping people work and build opportunities for themselves.
The shoe department deserves a special shoutout, too. The shoes are displayed nicely, everything is organized, and the entire store is so much cleaner. Before the renovation, sometimes you could pick something up and literally have dust on your hands. The cleanliness and presentation now are a huge improvement.
I almost didn’t want to write this review because I don’t need everybody finding out about my good shopping spot and coming over here taking my treasures. But credit is due where credit is due.
I do have one small request: please consider placing the price stickers on the underside of the shoes whenever possible rather than on the top or other visible portions. I’ve had stickers pull material or leather off when removing them, especially from sandals. The shoe may be in great condition, but removing the price sticker can accidentally damage it before I ever get to wear it.
Other than that, BIG UPS to the management and entire team at the Ellenwood Goodwill. I truly appreciate the upgrade, the revamping, the cleanliness, the friendly customer service, and especially the care you’re putting into displaying the things people donate.
