It’s a commissary. It’s ok. It’s much safer to shop here than being held at gunpoint somewhere off post while you try to put your groceries in the car. If you’re only here for a few things and want a basket, they’re rarely at the front where you walk into the store. Produce looks good though.

Selection is good. Prices on meat are great. Customer service is reflective of Goverment employees. They can't be bothered to smile or be friendly

Must be the new Army! Slow! People hanging around with no purpose, crowded with retirees and their onterage. Dirtiest commissary ! Checking out a nightmare ! Needs new management!

It’s always crowded there with dependas or retirees that do not move with a sense of purpose. The baggers are like sharks for their tips so 90% of people go to the self checkout line, again not moving with any sense of urgency so the line backs up half way down the frozen food aisles. They need to have set times for different groups, active, retired, etc. Soldiers in uniform do not get priority.

One of the largest commissary's I have ever visited. They have lots of extra like a full size bank, deli and even more. The prices are amazing. They have lots of eggs, water and things that we all need. The service at checkout was good. The store was clean, wide rows and clean carts

Typically, it is a very clean, well stocked story, with plenty of variety.

By far the worst commissary I've ever been to. The store is dingy and dirty, half the freezers and fridge units are out of order, the product selection is abysmal, the shelves are rarely stocked, there are expired products all over the store, the produce is limp and half rotten, and I question the cleanliness and safety procedures of their meat department. If you must shop here, do so with extreme caution! You have to check the dates on everything and really inspect any fresh food you buy. And don't bother trying to ask an employee for help, they are few and far between.

Excellence is Virtue by every column of food the commissary delivers at lightening speed.

I'm a retiree and today my wife and I shopped at the Fort Benning Commissary and I would like to leave this message: We were checked out by a wonderful lady, Tamico, and she was awesome, friendly, polite, patient and professional. I want to say that in the 25 years I have been shopping in this commissary I have never had a check out clerk like her and I want to let everyone know about this wonderful human being. Thank y'all for hiring her to serve our military family! 1SG(Ret) Ibanez. HOOAH!!

It's an ok place to shop. The essential eggs are always broken, spoiled, or look just plain disgusting. The Fort Benning commissary doesn't care to check what they are placing on the shelves and most of the employees don't care if all the eggs they put out are broken. How hard is it to open the egg cartons and only place the good eggs out and pull the bad ones off the shelf? If I open the eggs and they are leaking, cracked, and have a horrible stench that means they are rotten. If I smell my hands and they have a rotten smell from touching an egg carton isn't that a red flag that it shouldn't even be on the shelf? And how many other customers touch nasty eggs spread bacteria all over the door handles, carts, their kids, and whatever else they touch? Why are customers being exposed to those types of nasty germs to begin with? If I were you, DO NOT buy essential eggs from the commissary because chances are you're being exposed to bacteria and spreading it everywhere the moment you touch the door handle or any egg carton. This comes down to bad management and subpar employees. It seems like this place can't keep good employees for long and the ones that manage to stay really make the Fort Benning commissary look great...not. They don't care. If they're willing to put people's health at risk by being exposed to nasty germs imagine how that place is managed behind closed doors out of public view. If you look closely it's nasty. The dried goods are ok but the chill and frozen items are questionable. The freezers and coolers constantly go down and you see that products that probably spoiled are just placed back on the shelf. Like the ice cream....how many times are you going to let the ice cream melt before you deem it unsafe and a health risk to the public?

We found everything that was on our list. Friendly service, fast check out when we went. Only thing I couldn't get was a certain brand of carton cigarettes. Don't really need them anyway right. You are required to wear a mask inside. Update: shortly before Easter 2022 mask are mo longer required.
