The folks here are helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable of their minerals. It’s a great stop for anybody with children and a really cool field trip idea for my educator friends. The kids keep what they find and there are all sorts of neat stuff hidden in the buckets. For more discerning eyes, there are pieces inside the shop that will really amaze.

This is our yearly fun stop for Oktoberfest. They are very friendly and it’s so much fun. The guy even made a trash bag poncho for our toddler so her pretty dirndl wouldn’t get wet. She gets so excited. Can’t wait to do this again next year. Thank y’all

Tuesday my family and I visited the outpost gold & gem mining and had the most enjoyable experience we could have ever asked for! RYAN was so helpful from the beginning, very knowledgeable, informational and we could really tell he took pride in his job! He spoke with my 8 year old niece and explained everything to her so clearly, he also worked with her to design her very own custom pendant which he will be making and mailing to her in Florida. I highly recommend this mining place over the rest! Thank you outpost & Ryan!

This was the best thing that we did in a rather lack luster week spent in Helen! The young (blond) lady that assisted us was a sweetheart! Thank you all for a great visit! We are having fun going through our treasure now that we’re back home!

The people at Outpost gem mining are the absolute BEST!!! The employees are top notch. Family oriented, informative, and very courteous. A great place to stop by and spend the day with family.
Our daughter had such a great time that she forgot her newly found treasure! Since we live hours away, all it took was a phone call to have the treasure shipped. There was a second wave of excitement as our daughter rediscovered her finds! Above and beyond our expectations. Thank you !!!!

If you’re looking for gems and crystals this is the best place in Helen! The owner is really nice, he helped me pick out a quartz for my classroom and gave me a good price. They were great!
