Went here for our work retreat and though things had changed a little from the previous times there, it was still a nice experience. You feel like you traveled back in time at this beautifully kept historic place. I had a smaller room than the previous time, but it still nice. I like the special touches they had for us. The limited pop-up lunch thing they recently started was a little confusing. They said it was in the Alexander which we thought meant the bar area. It's really in the sunroom off of the main dining room. The food was good! They also offer a limited menu for dinner in the main dining room, which was something we had wanted to do, but we made plans to eat somewhere else. The boss luckily was able to dine there the following evening. He got a last minute reservation thanks to the great staff. Speaking of staff, there was a gentleman that helped me at the front desk and I saw him all over the hotel. It was great seeing his friendly face throughout our stay.

There’s no denying the charm and southern historic elegance of this resort hotel. It is appropriately appointed and restored to harken a bygone era. The rooms are spacious, mostly quiet and comfortable. The bathrooms are luxurious and functioned excellently. My poor service review stems from two attempts to obtain a simple in room coffee refresh. In the evening around 1030pm I personally went to the front desk to get coffee pods and was pleasantly told they would be delivered. They never came. The next morning I called the front desk to ask if they could be delivered. I was told they would be. I left the hotel around 10am and by that point had never got them delivered.I realize it’s off season and staffing is crazy for the service sector. If you were unable to deliver, it would have been much better to just tell me so.

1st… Let me say that my wife and I love this place. We first came here during COVID after our wedding when international travel was not an option. We called it out mini-honeymoon and have been back 3 years in a row!2nd… there are numerous people that deserve the highest recognition to include the woman that runs the Panty and the young man that checked us in! The complimentary Champagne and strawberries were marvelousLastly… I have to say that the service aspect is seriously disappointing.- when you pay over $350 a night it should be expected that the room will be tended to each morning. When we came back through the first night, I waited at the reception desk for someone to come out of the office to remind them of the Champaign and the older gentleman was less than enthusiastic to come out of his office to assist us.The next night, it was 5pm the following day when we asked an employee for fresh towels and refills for the coffee bar, and they seemed put out and actually never came.On the day we checked out and had breakfast at the Pantry, my wife’s chi-latte was not what she ordered and when I asked about it, there was no effort to correct the order.Again, we love this place and desire to go back EVERY year on our anniversary, but will consider other options if the service does not improve. You can see from the view posted how much we paid nightly for such a fantastic room. We truly desire to come back year after year and hope that the level of hospitality in the future does not disappoint us.

We just went for cocktails and did not stay there. The bar staff was really good. We enjoyed the cocktails and all of our drinks. The atmosphere is really nice. I would recommend this place to go to for drinks. We have never stayed there but have been there twice for cocktails.

Place was absolutely gorgeous. The hotels located right on the beach. It was priced way below what it should be. The rooms were clean and updated. Definitely a hidden gem. We went in the off-season, so it was a little, rainy and windy, but it was really nice especially to be able to walk on the beach with wind and a slight drizzle. If you're staying in Jekyll Island, this is the best place to stay.

My wife and I visited this resort after a tour of the nearby historic district. We walked around the grounds and decided to sit at the bar outside the grand dining room for a drink. We arrived right at 5pm and there was one other couple at the bar. The bartender asked them about their bill and then proceeded to the side of the bar to (I guess?) process chits or something. My wife asked her for a cocktail menu and got no response / no reaction. Similarly there was no acknowledgement of us when we sat down. My wife went to the ladies room and I asked the bartender two more times for cocktail menus and again got no reaction. I was beginning to think she had a hearing problem. Another man who worked at the establishment appeared and I asked him for a cocktail menu. He came closer to me and announced he didn't really speak English so I repeated my request and he responded with "you'd like a drink menu?" to which I replied "YES!" He then, after some difficulty, got the attention of the bartender and asked her for a drink menu which she produced while STILL not acknowledging I was sitting there, even when I loudly said "THANK YOU" as I took the menu from the man. She then went back to her "chits" for a minute and then left the bar! At this point my wife returned and I told her we should leave. After a minute or two my wife agreed. As we were leaving the bartender returned with some wine bottles. I'm still not sure how she totally missed that we were there. I guess she has hearing and vision problems. Pathetic.

Beautiful historic hotel. The property is well-maintained, with lots of attractions within walking distance. Staff is very friendly and hospitable. There’s plenty of parking and four tesla chargers on the property. The room s are newly renovated, but still retain their historic character. The only downside is that the floorboards are a little creaky if your upstairs neighbors don’t tiptoe around.

There aren’t enough words to describe Jekyll Island Club, during Christmastime. It is the most magical, beautiful, classic, amazing place ever. Been plenty of times during the summer but Christmastime is now going to be a tradition for us. Magical beyond words.

Fantastic step back in time. Beautiful resort with old world charm. Food and service is great the rooms are beautiful the kind of place you would like to explore. No elevator the building was built before electricity was invented. Room service is only once every 3 days. Other than that it was a wonderful

Went to the high tea. The server was nice. The tea service was disorganized, though, and pretty skimpy. They brought out one of each type of tea sandwich, so we had to cut them in half in order for us both got to try each. The scones were raw in the middle, so we sent those back. The soup came out last?!?

Very good, but very particular experience. The grounds are gorgeous old south plantation with colonial styled buildings strewn among huge old oaks draped in Spanish moss. The quiet and star filled skies make nights here special for city folk like me. Walks through the grounds won me many romance points with the gf, especially at night. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Not at the clearly 5 star level, but attractive in a quaint, southern style. The bar area attracts in a very old boy club and library sort of way. The chocolate martinis were great even if they are what I would call "girly" (go ahead, troll me for that). I had two. Cute that they have lots of board games in the library and a mahjong night once a week. Food is classic American, not exciting or special, but satisfying. Service is polite even if perhaps a bit too obsequious. The gym is dinky though. The main qualification is that the vibe is, how to put this euphemistically, "mature". Don't be surprised to see your grandparents' travel group here. But still a lovely setting that delivers a nice experience.

This place takes you back to an affluent time in our history before the Great Depression and WWII. You can experience first hand how the wealthy of the wealthiest lived as you are surrounded by luxurious vacation homes. The Jekyll Island Club Resort has been renovated with lovely rooms. The bathroom products & towels were great. The Pantry, a small snack bar, served minimal food at pretty high prices. The bar was small but plenty of comfortable seating with games & historical photos. There are many activities to choose from walking paths, bikes, pool, & work out facilities. You may get invited to yoga. You have an option between valet parking & self parking. ****BE aware that there is a DAILY $10 fee to get onto the island that is not covered in your resort fees. Take a historical tour, visit the gift shops: learn about this amazing time.

Purchased the Thursday High Tea experience and compared to a local tea room, very poor quality of savories and sweets. Tea is off the grocery shelf, sort of expected at least a Republic of Tea brand or nice English teas. Food off a food delivery truck. A dress code was posted and you had to agree to it before checking out, however, half the people there had on blue jeans & athletic shoes. It would have been nice to dress more comfy based on these items being listed as a "no entry." It was clear that the dress code is a joke. One group (3 wearing jeans & tees) had a crying toddler and did not take them out until we were almost done with our experience. Who wants to get dressed up for tea and sit with a crying toddler running around the room that NO ONE addressed! They were also getting ready for weddings during our "reserved" tea time, the wedding party busted up in the dining room for a photo shoot. Again, ruined the atmosphere. This experience is not one we would not repeat. Jekyll Island Club, there was a time when you were better than this. After patronizing for over 30 years, it may be time to find a place worthy of the name and history. The quality has left the building.

Our stay at JICR has been fantastic. Our room is in Sans Souci cottage and has a beautiful view of the grounds and the water beyond. The room is spacious though the pillows could be better.Breakfast at the Grand Dining has been wonderful. The meals are cooked perfectly and the staff are attentive and friendly. The dining room has the classic elegance of a time when craftsmanship was beautiful and intricate. I love the detail in all the woodwork. We have also enjoyed the Alexander Bar and the custom drinks provided there. October has been a perfect time to visit. At no time has it felt crowded even when we are biking around through the historic district. I am so glad we chose to stay here. This has been a memorable vacation.
