Check your room type.....
We booked an ocean view, I called to confirm it was ocean view. When we arrived and got to our room it WAS NOT. The balcony upgraded room I asked for (rm 211 first picture) looked at the roof, when you sat in the chairs provided you couldn't see the ocean either. You had to stand on the chair and lean over railing at an angle to see the water. I immediately went back downstairs and asked for another room. We spent 4 nights here, the first night in the awful room. They moved us the next day, to room 411, but not until after we spent our afternoon waiting for the room to get ready instead of sight seeing. The staff was helpful, female bartender and chair and umbrella guy at beach were very knowledgeable. It was a really stressful way to start vacation.

We were highly looking forward to our Residence Inn stay at Jekyll Island. The grounds outside the hotel were beautiful, the entrance and check in went smoothly. After gaining access to our room we noticed several issues we thought need more attention to detail- first off the amount of hair still hanging on the walls in the shower gave us a ick feeling of inadequate cleaning. The sills surrounding the showers had a large amount of visible black mold. Several drawers in the room were broken, with the handles falling off, and consistently sliding out, leading us to run into them in the dark- causing bruises and cuts especially dangerous with young children staying in the room. Small beetles/ baby roaches were found in our bags, and climbing on the walls in the corner next to windows.
By the 3rd day the pool was not clean- hair, beetles, and palm tree debris was floating in the pool- as the groundskeepers were trimming the trees.
As for breakfast- if you are gluten or dairy intolerant bring your own breakfast. There are not any alternatives. Despite having a “Starbucks sold here” cafe the coffee was TERRIBLE! If you find you like actual espresso and drinkable coffee- it’s well worth your trip to take a bike to Wake Up Coffee across from the Mosaic Museum.
Aside from these imperfections- we did appreciate the free sand toys and pool floats that guests could utilize. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Absolutely beautiful location the beach is very large with beautiful dunes. The only complaint is the beach is actually a salt marsh or mudflat and when you go out in the water the sand quickly turns to black mud it's a funky feeling. That's aside this is a beautiful location.

Wish I could review my stay here but it was canceled without notice. We booked a room at a prepaid willing to pay the balance up front. We did not realize that the card we had on our account was an old one that was not active. So instead of calling us to give us a heads up they just canceled our trip and didn’t let us know by any means. Seems like they took the opportunity to cancel our stay and sell it for 3x as much.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel. The ocean water was very brown, so we spent our time in the pool instead. The pool was one of the cleanest hotel pools I've ever been in. I sat on the balcony every morning, and was amazed at the amount of work the 2 gentleman put into cleaning the pool and hot tub area and insuring the chemicals were balanced. As someone who has had a pool for many years, I have to say I was very impressed.
The rooms are clean, but we did have to chase down and kill a few roaches and spiders. The bed was too hard for me, so I had uncomfortable nights, but I also have back issues.
The staff was friendly except for a rude young lady at the front desk when we tried to talk to her about them putting us in the wrong type of room. We reserved a 2 queen room because that is what we wanted, and they put us in a king without checking with us.

Service in dining area was extremely slow. 45 minutes for an afternoon lunch. Many add-ons to bill that increased affective room rate by at least 50.00per night.

Stayed here for a weekend in April 2025. Extremely well maintained property, very clean and overall managed well. Oceanfront rooms offer very decent views of the beach. Kitchen area has the necessary utensils and other cooking equipment (pots, pans, cutlery, speciality spoons, cups, etc). There is a Complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning for all Residence Inn guests. Also during my trip we received a $15 meal voucher each day which could be used at the on site restaurant.

This was fantastic top to bottom. The location was unbelievable and the amenities were way more than I ever anticipated from this brand.

Incredible hotel, incredible location, but extremely disappointed by housekeeping. My family loved staying at this hotel; the beach and pool are perfect and we were able to easily navigate to everything on the island. Our stay was continually disappointed by the housekeeping service. I have to assume this is the fault of Covid era cost cutting that has not been restored. On the first day we discovered no blankets or pillows were provided for the pull out bed. Not a huge issue and was resolved quickly. Every-other-day room cleaning was horrible. We left a pile of dirty towels to be replaced and were left with only 2 bath towels, no hand towels, no wash clothes, no bath mat. There were 4 of us staying but only the 2 towels left… at least they made the beds. Well that was the end of that too. On subsequent “cleaning” days a pair of towels was left on our counter, that it. We had to make additional trips to the front desk for toilet paper, soap was never replaced, surfaces were never cleaned. I came on a vacation to leave house work behind for a week. Well not here. They didn’t even replace the dishwasher soap detergent, so we just stopped doing the dishes at all. Just atrocious experience given the premium we paid to stay and have such an awful experience with the service. The last straw was when I approached the front desk and asked if they could send housekeeping to clean up the room on a “towel only” day (Which appears to be everyday except day 2) and was told - “I’ll let them know but they’re probably not going to do it”. What?!? I’ve never experienced that kind of response at a front desk of any hotel ever. Like I said, as far as the things you truly come for, beach, pool, area - this is an incredible spot. If you want even the most basic service during your stay, pick any other hotel on the island. The only thing making this review 3 stars is the location. Otherwise it would be 1 or 2 stars. If we would have gotten just a little service this would be a 4.5-5 all day.

We were NOT at the Residence in but at the Courtyard. Room was adequate although no accommodation for contents of luggage as in drawer space of any kind - had to live out of luggage. Hotel for a Memorial Day weekend VERY understaffed and noticeably so with food service VERY backed up and when orders not being taken due to that back up, guests not advised in a timely manner after sitting at tables with staff walking by. Coffee machine in lobby out of service for half of the weekend.
