“Great sod and good prices. Fast loading and friendly people. I did pick up three pallets of tall fescue. The first pallet was perfect. The last two came with fungus. I had to go back to the store and show them pictures and the gentleman behind the counter told me it’s a fungus so I had to buy $100 worth of fungicide to treat. There was some miscommunication on my part I did not make it clear it was brand new sod and assumed it was established grass but when they found out it was new sod Chuck refunded me the $100 for my trouble. Glad to see they will do the right thing for their customers. Ya don’t find that kind of customer service like that anymore. Thanks.”

“Helpful employee answered my question about a birdbath. He directed me to another website for catalog choices. If I find something that I like, he could order it for me so that I don't have to travel all the way to Athens.”

“I had such an incredible experience here today, and I especially want to recognize Christine. I had called asking a somewhat unusual question: I’m an artist working with dried botanicals, and I wanted to know if they ever had spent flowers, seed heads, clippings, or other plant material that would normally be discarded that I could use in my work.

Christine actually took the time to call me back and let me know they had some things I might be interested in. When I arrived, she immediately remembered me — “You’re the artist!” — handed me a pair of pruning shears, took me outside, and showed me an entire area of spent coneflowers. She told me to take whatever I wanted because I’d actually be helping them by cleaning things up.

I was absolutely delighted. What would normally be garden waste for the nursery is beautiful, interesting material for my artwork, and Christine completely understood that. She was warm, generous, incredibly helpful, and genuinely enthusiastic about letting me explore and collect what I could use.

Experiences like this are exactly why I love independent local nurseries. It wasn’t just great customer service — it felt like someone taking an interest in what I was creating and finding a way to help. I left with an incredible collection of botanical material and a huge smile on my face.

Christine, thank you for making an artist’s day. And yes, I meant it: anytime you have interesting plants that need pruning or material headed for the compost pile, call me. I will happily come help. 😂
