About Morganton Point Recreation Area

Morganton Point Recreation Area is a beautiful and very clean park and campground on the shores of Lake Blue Ridge within the Chattahoochee National Forest. It offers an incredible camping and recreation opportunity with over 40 campsites, including group and walk-in sites. The day use area provides secluded swimming, a beach, hiking trails, picnicking, boating, and fishing. The campground has nice amenities, with well-maintained campsite pads. The restrooms and comfort stations are noted as immaculate, clean, spacious, and the nicest some visitors have ever seen, with full showers available. The park is described as top notch and peaceful, suitable for a sunny morning or a summer visit. The staff and park hosts are friendly, helpful, and funny. Visitors can find kayak rentals, snacks, and memorabilia. It is an amazing place with an amazing lake view, where the area is kept clean through visitor diligence and an honor system for parking donations. Nearby attractions include the town of Blue Ridge and Helen.
