I was pleased with the purchasing process but the vehicle I purchased was terrible. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado LT 4 x 4, smelled like smoke. The oil was never changed. The vehicle was never detailed or clean once I was handed the keys three weeks later my transmission and drivetrain is having major issues. I’ve went over the 4000 mile/90 day warranty so Carmax service center told me there’s nothing they can do about it. So they sold me a lemon that I can no longer drive after three weeks of purchase!

I can’t even comprehend what happened to us. We had filled out everything to get the pre-buying done so when we got in the store we wouldn’t have to do much waiting. Most of what we had already filled out wasn’t in their system so we had to redo those steps.
Then after they completed the sale and took our money down they are prepping the car. They find out the odometer was rolled back so can’t sell us the car. We ended up with no car and our down payment tied up for a week from the money they had already taken. Then they have their nonchalant attitude towards it all and call us to see when we will be back in!
Never again.

I took my car in to be serviced and have a diagnostic test performed. Waited maybe 2 hours. I asked the service manager "Dylan" if they checked the oil and he told me it was good. Minutes after I got on the expressway my service light came on stating oil service required in 39 miles. I don't think they did anything other than reset the tire psi reader.

I feel tricked. First I spoke to eight (8) people expressing my need to have a car on Sunday. One of the managers stated I wont get it causing me to have a mini panic attack. She blamed me for the car not arriving. However I was determined and I called every one I could and as a result received my car. However when I got the car it was dirty had dry dirt and the seat had a stain and the exterior had maker marks that looks like the dealership attempted to conceal the blemishes. For the amount that I paid, I should have received a clean car. It was a horrible and stressful experience that I feel nobody took responsibility for. If I had time I would've called corporate to note my experience.

Everything was good. Except that my new 2024 car had a battery problem within a week after I left the dealership. I was out of town and too their credit, car max got goodyear to replace the battery and took care of the cost. Also, the service center was a little hard to reach Kept getting a leave a message response. Unable to solve a minor problem with scratched bumper.

This is my second review. I had two bad experiences with Carmax while working with salesman Jerome. Jerome gave me false information about the warranty to get me to purchase it. I called in and spoke with manager Jeff. He provided correct information about the warranty and had me come back in to cancel the warranty. I reached out to Jerome and advised him I had spoken to the manager Jeff and that I was coming back in to cancel the warranty. I asked Jerome if I had to be there a specific time. He responded to my text and told me that I could come in anytime during business hours and then proceeded to tell me, that I can work with another sales person and going forward I shouldn't reach out to him. I found this to be so unprofessional. So basically he's mad because he gave me WRONG information and I let management know about it. ANYWAY the reason I'm giving this review a 5 is because, I worked with another salesman name Steve Holmes. HE WAS SO AMAZING. HE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE SURE I WAS SATISFIED. HE WAS PATIENT AND VERY POLITE. HE PROVIDED OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE. HE SHOWED ME HOW TO WORK CERTAIN FEATURES IN THE VEHICLE. HE WAS JUST SO AMAZING!!!! HE IS THE DEFINITION OF PROFESSIONALISM AND CLASS! If you are going to this carmax to purchase a vehicle. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU WORK WITH STEVE HOLMES. He changed my mind about how I think about Carmax. Some salespeople are there for just a check BUT ppl like Steve is there because they care about the customers. I AM TRULY GRATEFUL THAT I HAD THE CHANCE TO WORK WITH STEVE HOLMES.
