“This museum has gotten so much bigger and better since my last visit in the 2000's. An incredible living history of the Mighty 8th Air Force history. So many amazing exhibits. Everyone should visit to see what the 'Greatest Generation' went through during WWII to ensure that hopefully this scale of global carnage, death and loss could never occur again.”

“Red Gate is a beautiful wedding venue and the staff were always so helpful throughout the process! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gorgeous site! I also felt everything was reasonable priced and well worth it! They truly made my dreams come true of getting married under a Savannah oak tree!!”

“Such a fun, eclectic, and historic spot away from the fervor of downtown Savannah! Party of four- we found a nice large corner table in the bar. Menus delivered and drink orders taken quickly by a busy bartender/server. He made excellent suggestions and beverages. Ordered off the bar menu (although restaurant full menu was available). Smash burgers were well prepared and tasty as was Mahi tacos. House salads were uninspiring considering $10 cost. The ambience and decorations coupled with the good service, drinks and food made for a lovely evening. Convenient parking right outside the front door. The history of the facility and its benefactor can be viewed from several delightful displays placed around the main building. “So old men don’t have to die alone.””

“I wish I could give this place 10 stars! It was absolutely amazing! Mr. Freddie’s hospitality, care for his clientele, and facility is beyond exceptional. When reaching out to retrieve information on the facility he was quick with response and straight to the point. At first I thought the price was a little steep before seeing the location. However, that feeling quickly changed once I arrived and saw what it offered, the amazing/peaceful location that it was in, and how well the building was kept. Thank you for your phenomenal service! You definitely went above and beyond for me and my family!”

“We has been on the road for 8 hours and was happy to find a clean room waiting for us. It was very close to several dining options and the desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The free breakfast had lots of options and was good for what it was— don’t compare it to a five star restaurant. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and plan to return on future trips.”

“We had a great time playing trivia and the food was great. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is they are having staffing issues and not enough experienced servers were available. I feel this will greatly improve in the future when they are fully staffed.”

“I visited here with a friend this past Sunday and our experience was great. I don’t usually have the best service at bowling alleys but this was a great turn around. The food was fresh and tasty and the workers were all helpful and nice. Good thing I don’t live too far cause we will definitely be back soon. Thank you!!”

“Employees were fantastic. Room furniture a little worn and in weird placement in the suite. Recharging stations for phones and tablets would be a nice addition. Breakfast was limited but good. Rooms were clean.”

“I booked this hotel in advance before my return trip from visiting my family in the mid-Atlantic region. I book exclusively IHG Properties when I travel, so it just so happened this Candlewood Suites was in the area I was stopping in; as well as at a great price point.Although I have spent many nights at IHG Properties, this was the first time I have been at a Candlewood Suites. Reading the reviews I didn't have high hopes but, considering it was about $100 for a night out the door; there was no way I was going to pay $60 more to stay at the Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express that were close by.When I arrived at 7 pm to check-in I was greeted by an empty front desk with a “be right back”, or something to that extent sign. The phone was ringing, and I just stood there for around 15 minutes; helping another guest connect to the Wi-Fi along the way. When the clerk finally arrived, he was friendly and was willing to move my room to my preferred, top floor. Based on previous reviews I was skeptical but, the room was very much recently renovated. Everything was in working order and the room was clean other than a few hairs that weren't mine that popped. However, that will happen at 90% of places you stay no matter what the flag or specific brand you stay in.I had no issues with noise and slept soundly through the night in a new and comfortable bed, which was very firm; which I like personally. I was tired from the night before and didn't need to be at my next destination until later the next day. The front desk called me in the morning to see if I was leaving that day or staying over. It seemed somewhat odd that they would call and ask since I only booked one night but, either way it wasn't a burden.Overall, I was very happy with my stay. I would not let previous negative reviews keep you away as it is clear that the hotel has recently undergone major renovations. To address the elevator comment made my other former guests, I did hear a very small amount of noise only when going up before it would stop. Other than that it seems thah they have rectified the issue.Rooms: Recently Renovated”

“Stay away! Overpriced with nothing to offer. States they are renovating yet nothing was being worked on. Went through 4 rooms due to issues with appliance in 3rooms. Fitness, pool, patio, and grill area all closed. Breakfast area under construction and hallways half torn apart. Staff lacks knowledge about the hotel as I attempted to inform them the lock on the room was dying but it was only after 4 trips of being locked out did they finally replace the battery.Rooms: Dated kitchen with appliances that suck.Noteworthy details: Renovation seems to be in progress though no one was working on anything during my visit. Stay away”
