The Shell gas station in Helen, GA, is a convenient spot for quick stops, offering a variety of services and products. The staff, including friendly cashiers like Hazel, are appreciated for their personable and welcoming attitude, making customers feel at home. The station is known for its small grocery section, which includes snacks, candy, beer, wine, cigarettes, bait, tackle, and firewood, along with coffee and drinks in coolers. Many visitors enjoy stopping here for a quick fill-up, especially since it's located within walking distance for locals and has become a memorable part of their visits or daily routines. However, gas prices are generally high, often almost 40 cents more than nearby stations like Cleveland, which is a common complaint among customers. Despite the higher prices, the station has a nostalgic and community feel, with stories of unique moments, such as a local cat found inside the beer cooler, adding charm and character to the place. Overall, it’s seen as a good pitstop for travelers and locals alike, offering friendly service and a variety of essentials, even if the prices are on the higher side.
Gas is pricey and should come down to be comparable with other stations nearby. Although, staff is super awesome and very personable. Love having these guys nearby.

Stopped by to get gas around 7:30am (11-24-23) only 1 other person in store besides cashier. Just a quick run in and out to pay for gas. The cashier was nice.
