“With the Advent of Amazon and online shopping, it is often so difficult to find a quality bookstore, especially in a town as small as Hilo, Hawaii, which is why I'm so grateful for Basically Books. It not only provides Hiloans a place to hold books, review books, search for books, but it also provides excellent author readings and talks. While I admit I prefer electronic books because I'm a voracious reader with an extremely small home, I still often visit Basically Books to look at new offerings but more often to find gifts to promote literacy.”

“Found an adorable Hilo bookstore neatly filled with a variety of titles. It is almost at the end of Hilo towns main drag. There is a clean bathroom for customers inside. Park on the street if u r driving. I enjoy finding small book stores. This bookstore has Hawaiiana, national, fun, romance etc. My sister found a book on glass, glass blowing and designing which she does as a hobby and she never saw the book before in other national bookstores.”

“Come here for your COLLEGE GEAR! You name it...they have everything from course textbooks, to school supplies and to UH Hilo merch. Just the place for students or guests to shop at. The book store is fairly new and spacious. It is conveniently located near the school's parking lot...easy to spot! It also has an entrance that leads into the dining room. It is perfect for student's on the run in need of a quick visit. So, if you are looking for supplies or souvenirs, check out UH Hilo's Bookstore, you'll thank me for that!”
