Good for what it is. A multipurpose sporting arena. I was here for a college fair. They layer down a protective covering on the floor and set up a hundred or so folding tables for college representatives to sit at as they greeted high school students from around Hilo.

Seeing the location of the Merry Monarch programs every year was an experience. The stadium looks smaller to me in person than on television. It's good use of space.

Huge older rounded roof open air facility for setting up for large events. We went for an art festival with entertainment. But have also been there for medical reserve Corp training. Plenty of room. Lots of paved parking around the area. Bleachers located around the periphery. Large circular flat area in the center. Good place for any larger event.

The annual Hilo Orchid Show was delightful. Unique colorful orchids and various vendors showcasing pottery, ceramics, art and photo prints, etc. Lots of different orchid plants for purchase too.

Finally made it here for my very first merrie monarch hula festival in April. There is lot of parking all over the place so even with a packed stadium we were able to find a stall. It's open air so it's nice and breezy and sometimes even a bit cold. There are a lot of bathrooms there so the wait isn't so bad. I hope to return to this stadium next year and be on that stage!
