I hired a brand new Jeep Compass, which I was not impressed with. Put on almost 1,000 miles in just over a week. Staff at the kiosk were very pleasant and helpful.

5/5 stars. No wait for pickup or return. Was upgraded to a great sports car free of charge. Would recommend to friends and family!

I rented a car from them through priceline. Easy pickup after my flight, short walk from baggage claim, cars are close to the rental window. About $280 to rent a car for a week (wound up being cheaper than Turo!)

Car cars in a park near the airport are not safe for passengers because they have a safety record of driving under a vehicle or a safety hazard of a passenger or passenger being in a car accident while on a road or in the park and the vehicle has been safely recovered from a vehicle accident in a traffic area in which there are a total number between three to four cars and the driver has a right of violation and is under the law of emergency custody to report any accidents or any accidents that are serious accidents in the public park is not an offence to the driver is an accident and is not an person act as an offence of any type or offence in any manner other then as an act as an accident of the nature or purpose or cause or purpose in a crime.

I used a website from my workplace called Tickets at Work to reserve a rental car & Tickets uses Thrifty. I had already pre-paid for the rental car. When we arrived at the pickup counter the staff on duty was quick to point out that the driver (whom wasn't going to be me) needed to provide a credit card in his name for collateral & couldn't use mine. The driver didn't have a credit card, so the staff pushed in front of us the debit card rules & didn't explain the process well to the driver. The staffer was quick to say "no" (aka we're not going to rent to you) when the driver said that he didn't have a passport or a utility bill with us, which caused my driver to get upset and defensive. The Thifty staffer could've prevented this from happening in the first place by having a "Yes if"/cooperative mindset - yes, you can rent from us if you fulfill these conditions & explained the process to us instead of just shutting us down and saying no. The staffer was also really slow to process our rental and Thrifty had no other staff available to talk to. We did ultimately rent from them, but be aware that if for some reason you will not be the driver, even if you pre-pay for the car, the driver must have a credit card in their name or a debit card with 2 forms of ID to rent from them. They also put a $500 hold on your debit card when using a debit card. The car we got was nice, and the check-in lady on our drop off day was nicer, but the initial guy left an extremely negative impression. We'll avoid Thrifty for future car rents.

Quick, 1 day trip from Hnl and Thrifty did the trick. Located right outside Hilo airport lobby, alongside all the other car rental companies.Reserved online through hotwire. I had prepaid the rental, though the taxes are charged at the time of drop-off. If you use a cc, the hold is $200, and with a debit card, it is $500. At the time of drop-off, they'll charge only the taxes and release the hold. I was able to change the method of payment upon checking out.We got a Camero for the day, and the speed was insane (of course, it chugs gas like crazy). The reps were super friendly, especially Nia, who informed us that the car was allowed up to the visitor center at Mauna Kea. We took the car all around the island without any issues.Mahalo Thrifty!

If I could leave no star I would. The front desk has horrible customer service!! They do not take care of you. With the company itself we have had great results however at this location, they have no car overlap so you wait two plus hours for a car! The battery in our rental dead we CALLED customer service and they helped and sent a battery to the service shop. However the women at the front desk is rude very rude. She shut the door on my husband and said she did not want to hear about our issue. The service shop mechanic is wonderful on a light note. I have never dealt with a car rental desk service so unbelievably disgusting. Zero stars for this location!!

We had a reservation, but no cars were available for us or the 8 people in line before us. We’ve been waiting for about 1.5 hours so far. To quote Jerry Seinfeld, “You see, you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.”

Flew from Big island to Oahu in shorter time than the time it took to get service from Thrifty.

Rented a car from May 19, - 30, 2022! Return the car on time! They utilized my debit card for deposit and car payment! Total at $1402.00. Upon returning the car they at that time should have deducted the car rental payment and returned my deposit, cost for rental was $901.00! My deposit was $ 502.00 due back to my account! Well this is where the nightmare they go into my account and over draft my account ! Call my bank and thrifty they will apologize but yet they problem has not been resolved! On their recording they say the funds would be released it’s been 5 days still no refund!! This is a nightmare I won’t forget!

Spent 1.5 hours in line waiting to get our contract. They only had 4 of 12 check in counters open despite having a line out the door of people waiting to check in. After receiving our signed contract we waited another 45 minutes downstairs in the car pickup queue. I would not recommend renting from Thrifty.
