I had a post office box at this location for several years. A couple of months ago I had a bad fall from a ladder, fractured, my spine, and a couple of ribs, but I have no help so I had to go to the post office for myself. I pleaded with the manager to help me without standing in line, but he coldly stated we don’t pick people out of the line.
When I moved my service to a different post office, I was told to wait to cancel for my refund, but when I followed their instructions, I was told I waited too long and there would be no refund.
Then just now Amazon sent my subscription product to the old post office and THIS MANAGER at USPS charged $17 to “intercept” the package even though the package was there and there was no inconvenience to them. It’s nothing short of exploitation of the consumer. Disgraceful.

Nice employees but tend to open 5 minutes late and close 5 early. Punctual about breaks and lunch though!

Go to Keaau, they are helpful, happy and knowledgeable.This Hilo one lost 3 packages now in 6 mos, and rude EVERYTIME! I just walk in bad Attitude! If the two working hate their job then work somewhere else. If your angry in Hawaii then your reachin! Smiling would be good!!!! Try Aloha.

I came in to ship three large items and I spoke to three different people. Each had a different reason why my packages weren't acceptable to be shipped. I took every step they suggested and in the end, I was told my packages were too heavy which any one of the three dinguses I spoke to could have told me before sending me on random errands that did nothing to help me actually send out my packages. At least they let me skip the line

Have had excellent experience - staff were extremely professional, courteous and very helpful.One obeservation - maybe please hire more people because the line gets really long and if all counters are manned maybe faster service.. apart from that excellent experience. Thank you.

I normally don't post negative reviews but after such a long and distressing process with no amends or closure, I feel it's the only thing to do to inform others. This USPS has stolen not one, but two of my partner and I's packages and we are now forced to find other options to receive our mail all while still paying for this horrible service. Their suggestion is to request replacements/refunds from the company from which our packages were purchased, which leads me to believe they have done this for a long time, to others, and ultimately this is how they handle situations in which their employees have stolen. It is unfortunate that no one holds any responsibility here, even the many managers don't hold their employees accountable or make things right with their customers.

A crew in this office has stolen my expensive small package. They don’t care to search for it. Manager didn’t show up at the counter after my request. No one picks up the office phone or be responsible to answer my questions. Need to call cops to file for a theft. Sooo unfortunate…
