“Call ahead to check days/hours of operation. I just spoke to Ms Kimura over the telephone. Hours are Mon-Sat 10am-4-ish. I read a review that it is hit or miss with this store. Could be true but keep trying. Don't give up because the stuff here is authentic and you will not be disappointed. We support the shops owned by local people. This is the kind of place we want to keep around. So if they don't answer the phone or if no one is there when you get there, come back because they might be at lunch, running an errand, etc. And buy big!!! I own two different lauhala handbags, place mats, my husband bought at hat here. And we'll visit again and again.”

“We booked the chocolate & coffee tour and we got so much more. The tour and wealth ofInformation we got from Greg was outstanding. He has a true passion for the farm and all they do there. We were able to taste the coffee andChocolate, which were wonderful. We also got a tour of the soap factory and how they make it as well. This was a bonus in my book. All the staff were friendly and informative. I would highly recommend to anyone.Mahalo”

“The only company that picked up their phone during the holidays! Enjoyed working with Heather and the floral arrangement was beautiful in color and composition. She was able to create and send on the same day. Talk about great customer service! Thank you Heather!”

“Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wife and I purchased a photo frame and a candle holder from this place, we like how some of the proceeds go to conservation. Worth a stop in Kona!”

“We were in Kona a few weeks ago on vacation and stopped in this market as we had their macadamia nuts before through a retail business on mainland. What great macadamia’s, superb ! The mother and daughter whom work there Tiffany and Shay were amazing . We stayed for at least 30 minutes talking with them about life in Hawaii and getting advice on where to explore . Super friendly and kind and great customer service . A few days later we bought macadamia’s from a farm stand on the road to Volcano National Park and they were not nearly as good as Mahina Mele . Pay them a visit !”

“I have been getting Painted Coconuts from them for several years, everyone always loves them as they are so unique. I will be ordering more..If u have not ordered one or two of them, give it a try... the sports ones go over awesome as this is Football season. I got my mom a Chicago Cubs one with the World Series Champions on it... she loved it and cried as it was so emotional for her.”

“Iced cold water and a canned Latte which is especially lucky to find. Guy beside me just broke a glass bottle in the terminal. Anytime I can avoid single use plastic and breakables is a win-win. Most days no choice.”
