Hawai‘i Theatre is a historic and beautiful venue located in Chinatown with over 100 years of history. It hosts a variety of events, including national touring acts, local performances, comedy shows, and special movie mornings. The theater’s architecture is stunning, adding charm and elegance to each experience. The venue features excellent acoustics, clear sound, and a perfect air conditioning system, making every show enjoyable. Visitors often describe the atmosphere as energetic and welcoming, with friendly staff who make everyone feel comfortable regardless of the event. The theater offers a unique experience, especially for those attending VIP packages, which include early access, soundcheck, exclusive memorabilia, and the opportunity to meet performers. Recent VIP guests enjoyed front-row seats, signed posters, limited-edition items, and backstage passes, creating memorable moments. The venue also hosts special events like dance parties with DJs, adding to its vibrant community atmosphere. While the theater is generally praised for its beauty and service, some reviewers mention that the temperature can be too cold unless it’s a full house. The bathroom facilities could use more stalls, and some seating may not accommodate long legs comfortably, feeling a bit tight like airplane economy seating. Despite these minor issues, Hawai‘i Theatre remains a favorite spot in the state, cherished for its historic ambiance, great sound, and welcoming environment. It’s a treasured cultural hub that offers memorable experiences for all visitors.
Wonderful experience no matter what the show is but temperature way too cold inside theatre unless it’s a FULL house! Dress in layers, bring a jacket, hat, socks, blanket etc. Thin Blankets for sale at upstairs bar for around $35.

I love the historical aspects of the theater and that it's a non-profit organization. It's a very unique place--gorgeous! Only a couple of issues needing attention... the bathroom needs more stalls and the seats do not accommodate long legs at all! Felt like I was in economy seating on an airplane!
