About New Cholon
New Cholon is a good place for overall Chinatown shopping. It is a great store with lots of Vietnamese ingredients, including fresh dishes earlier in the day, fresh herbs, and pickled carrots and daikon. It offers a great selection of cool canned, dry, ready-to-eat, grab-and-go meals, and frozen goods. It is known especially for vegetarian “meats” and frozen vegan meat substitutes at a good price and with a good selection. The store is small but spacious, very clean, and fairly clean compared to other local stores. Prices are very reasonable. They might run out of stuff sometimes depending on the season. Cash is king.

Came here while exploring Chinatown and was surprised by how clean and big the market was (when compared to everything else in the area). Picked up Vietnamese to go meals and they were authentic, delicious, and priced right. Can't wait to return!

Gem of a grocery store in Chinatown! Delicious food (try the prepped meals!), very clean, great prices and friendly staff. Great place to pick up provisions and food for adventures on the island. We'll definitely come back next time we are in town!
