“I absolutely love the layout of this Costco Gas Station! Turn in to the main parking lot, and make a quick left into one of the 8 queue lines, or make a right to go shopping.

It would've been hard to find, or even know a Costco existed in the area as they're surrounded by an older & established-looking industrial area, but Google maps never fail.

On this particular Monday, lines were nil, and gas was about 70-cents cheaper than stations in Kailua Kona.

I LOVE COSTCO & COSTCO GAS!”

“I haven't been here yet. I just moved here but all of these 1 star reviews need be dismissed. This is a neighborhood market in a very remote town and part of the world. It is a blessing for the community and we should all be grateful, always.”

“This place is truly an oasis in the desert, so amazing, I don't even know where to start! By 9:30 am, I'm hungry and ready for lunch. I walk in and there is so much hot and ready, beautiful food, it blows my mind! Musubi, poke, salads, sandwiches, fresh fruit, fancy cakes, even hot teriyaki salmon over rice! Me, I went for the tuna-potato-macaroni salad. It was so fresh and homemade, it 100% broke da mouth! Their drip coffee was pretty good, but they also have an espresso maker for lattes and cappuccino. Plus, there's an entire market and a nice, covered outdoor eating area. Oh, and there's even clean bathrooms that you don't have to beg to use!”

“Working in the customer service for over 10 years and being a tour guide for over 5 years I recognize exceptional soft skills and customer service when I see it. The woman with the black short hair at the cash register in the evenings has always brightened my day just the two times that I have gone to this gas station. I usually only go to Costco bc they are the cheapest. But the shell gas station on Lako street in kona has a very great atmosphere. My first time grabbing gas I was rushing bc I have a commitment in South Kona a few afternoons a month. She pointed out the sunset which helped me take a moment to pause and feel gratitude amongst the daily routine of life. Then another time she gave the customer in front of me in line a nice compliment. Long story short. I find her ability to create a positive joyful atmosphere in a simple shell gas station quite remarkable. We all go to the gas station to fill up our cars and get in and out. So to experience an extra kindness and friendliness is really offsetting. Especially the way her service is still very fast and efficient. Now that’s the multitasking that is unobtainable for most. I’ve never written a review for anything. I’ve gone on ziplines, boat tours, fishing tours and snorkeling tours around the island. But I had to go out of my way to shout out to the shell gas station. I believe genuineness needs to be recognized. I’d say this lady deserves a raise but Im 99% sure that she is the manager bc why wouldn’t she be.”

“You can use your FoodLand/Sack n Save Maika'i card to get 5¢ off per gallon. That's so helpful right now with gas prices so high.We enjoy their Ice machine, keeps us cool with different flavors. They also have a smoothie machine that blends your pick right there. They also have different ready to go snacks from sandwiches, Musubi, fresh fruit bowls, salad bowls, etc. Huge assortment of drinks and snack.Wonderful customer service!”

“Not a ton of pumps, and I didn't go inside so I can't say what that looks like. The price of gas is about average for the city currently. I did notice they have a vacuum available for cars (just one) but can't say if it's free or not. So why four stars you may ask? The reason is location, location, location my friend. Situated just up the road from the Kona Coast Resort, if you're bougie enough to be staying there or working nearby it provides an opportunity to get gas unmolested from the working class types in the city below. Located far enough off of a main highway or city street it is almost never busy which is rare at a gas station on the islands, so you won't have somebody crawling up your tailpipe to get at your pump. It's also situated on top of a hill, with gorgeous views of the ocean to contemplate while taking a moment to relax pumping gas before joining the unwashed masses below.”

“We rented a car from a private service and had to wash and vacuum the car before returning it. The touchless car wash was more than sufficient since we rented a sedan and didn’t do anything off-road. Price for the car wash was reasonable. You can expect to pay anywhere between $12-16 pretax depending on the level of wash you want either inside the gas station or at the drive up kiosk before entering the actual wash. They do have an option for brush washing but I’ve always had bad experiences with those. There are 2 stations for vacuum, air, and water. Vacuum is a little weak on picking up sand and in crevasses but it’s what you’d expect from a DIY car wash. Paper towels dispensers are on the gas pumps which are right across from the vacuum stations. It can get a little tight since you’re sharing space with the pumps. It can be busy in that area and there’s no real place to line up so you gotta make it work.Overall, it accomplished what we needed.”

“Got gas here twice while on the island. Most gas stations seem to have similar prices, so just pick one and stop. This one was easy for me to get in and out of at the times I went. No public restrooms, as with a lot of places.”

“Great car wash! Tip the guys well, and you'll be astounded at how perfectly clean your car comes out. The fact that you don't need quarters for the vacuums is a very nice touch”

“Gas is not cheap on the islands… Well, however if you plan to fill-up before your exploring trip in the morning or before rental car “drop-off” – this is the most convenient location I guess, if you're staying in the area and price-wise, you cannot really win you going to “drive around” ;-) Also, another excuse to get gas here to stop at “KTA-Store” for some snack or food to go (did that many times).”

“The staff is super friendly. The store is fully stocked. The place is very clean. The restrooms are clean as well. Ethna, the lady who covered the third shift the day I went, gave top service. She deserves a raise.”

“⛽️? Ohana Fuels Kailua-Kona – Clean, Convenient & Well-Lit! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ohana Fuels in Kailua-Kona is an excellent gas station—clean, well-maintained, and well-lit, making it a safe and convenient stop any time of day. ?? It’s also super close to Kona Airport, which makes it a perfect place to fuel up before or after a flight! ✈️⛽️

The pumps are easy to use, and the station is always stocked and organized. The only minor issue we ran into was trying to use Apple Pay at the pump—we couldn’t quite figure it out. ?? But aside from that, everything else was smooth and hassle-free!

For anyone looking for a reliable, clean, and convenient gas station near Kona Airport, Ohana Fuels is a fantastic choice! Highly recommend! ?⛽️✨”

“Stopped by to fill up my rental car's tank on the way back to the airport, and I picked up some really good fried chicken for the flight home. The chicken was fried perfectly and was very tasty, even after a couple of hours.”
