Location randomly decides to close in the middle of the day. Rude and standoffish staff. All the ingredients of a bad business.

Unreasonable Charge for Basic ServiceI recently visited the UPS Store in Kailua-Kona and was shocked to be charged $3 just for printing a shipping label. This fee felt exorbitant for a basic service that should be included, especially considering I was already using their shipping services. Disappointing customer experience and an unnecessary hit to my wallet. Looks like they don’t care about it because they are just the only one in town. It is a shame, we are a very small community.

I wish I could give ZERO stars because of the RUDE/SASSY/MEAN lady who works there. She doesn’t only give attitude to me but my family members as well. There used to be local girls who worked here who were extremely nice. Miss them. Crazy how you can hire such rude people. We have never been mean to any associate there and get treated with attitude. She obviously hates her job or people in general. Idk.

OMG! It was a bad enough that there was only one employee servicing a line of customers that reached the far side of the store, but to make it even more unbelievably horrible, the woman behind the counter charged me $2 for a couple pieces of clear tape to seal a box! Only made worse by how smug and unapologetic she was about it. Like she enjoyed the complete power play of sticking it to me. Everyone has a right to hate their job, but it's not okay to take it out on people you're paid to help.

This UPS franchisee works SO hard and I’m grateful for the service they provide to the community. It’s never pleasant when you arrive and see a line 20 deep with each person has a special request. The staff here do try their darnest to move people along - sometime maybe a little bit more expedited than their guests would like (Aka perceived ‘rude’)Like every business in town they’re short staffed. It’s not perfect but it gets the job done and my parcels are shipped to the intended destination.

Went today Aug 14 to drop off small item. Rude and very unfriendly female who obviously hates her job. Goodness what a shame and surprised me. No manners, no smile, minimal effort. Sad.

Absolutely terrible service. Went only to drop off an Amazon return. Should have been a quick trip. A lady was in front of me that was picking up a package. One ups rep spent 20 minutes- literally 20 minutes, looking for it before finally telling the lady that it was her fault they couldn't find it, because she couldn't describe the packaging to them well enough. Finally the lady gave up trying to get her package after being told to call the sender and get a better description of the package they could not find. During this time, a line formed out the door, and the other clerk who was working there just ignored the line. Once a third ups employee popped out, i thought she was going to help with the line, but she just looked at us like she wished we weren't there, and then went back into the back room. Finally, when it was my turn. I handed the clerk my package, which she flipped over and told me I did not have the right label for. I told her that this is the label that Amazon sent for the return. She told me, " go back and talk to Amazon". As I am trying to figure out what to do, she looks at me and says "what?". Meanwhile clerk#2 continued ignoring the building line, and the mystery clerk#3 (I think, she wasnt wearing anything that showed her to be a UPS employee) stayed hidden in the back. I went home and talked to Amazon, who assured me I had the correct label. Now i get to go back and do this again today.

If I could this establishment a minus 5 I would! They have no concept of customer service, they are rude. What has happened to work ethics and simple pleasantries. I will no longer go her, Longs on Palani road cans take UPS drop offs.

Man I have almost posted terrible reviews for this place on many occasions…but have always hesitated because it’s lame to leave bad reviews. Today’s experience was the worst. Consistently bad service. Today there was a huge line and one woman completely ignoring customers as she scanned what looked like the daily ups shipment. Maybe this is part of protocol that keeps the business going but it was frustrating to see someone who could potentially help but wouldn’t. The customer in front of me was so frustrated that neither person could help him that he walked out. Kind of stuck with this as our ups option but it is not the greatest. If a agent has to process shipments maybe do it in the back of the store or at least acknowledge the long lines and say hey I can help you in ten minutes or whatever the case is. It really seems that employees just don’t care.

People are nice and the store is clean but the owner charges three dollars and some to print a label which is one piece of paper. UPS store in Hawi does not charge anything while the UPS stores in Waimea and Pahoa charge half that. Maybe that retail space is more expensive in this location. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. But It is much more expensive. That is a fact.

Even for a UPS store, where they are usually curt, this place is horrible. The nastiest clerks for absolutely no reason. I will not go back for any reason.

REVENGE ON CUSTOMER:My package has sent to a mail box under a different name, so they returned it. I called with frustration, so they made revenge to return the second attempt purposely. I called the store manager that I was still able to get the package and their job was horrible.Since they cannot revenge on me, they now targeting the person owned the mail box, which doesn’t concern me anymore. It’s just pretty bizarre to witness such a thing. It’s your choice to do business with them. Personally I won’t.

I just experienced the worst UPS service I’ve ever had with Jenny. While waiting in line. Jenny pointed at my prepaid Amazon label and said :”this need to be UPS air or I’m not taking that it has a battery sign on it “. I explained that’s what Amazon gave me she told me she doesn’t care . I need to get an UPS air label or else she’s not taking it. So we decided to take the item that possibly have the battery out and ripe the label out that’s on the box for the battery. We were the first in line when she mentioned the label. When we arrived at the counter she still refused to take the package claiming the driver wouldn’t take it because there’s some residual paper from the battery label.. we continue to peel this off re tape the box. Then she finally scanned shipping label. And said it’s not her, it’s the driver that wouldn’t take a package that’s a left over paper. And is not shipped through UPS air. She’s providing a free service for Amazon. it’s Amazon and the driver won’t take the package. I asked for the receipt. She said go somewhere else the next time. I told her I wish I could’ve. She came across very rude and aggressive right off the start. If what she said is true she definitely could’ve explained it better instead of with an attitude.

The workers in this store are horrible and know nothing about customer service. They routinely ignore customers in line; rather than helping those waiting in line, they pretend to be busy moving, labeling, stacking, rearranging boxes. I stopped by recently to drop off a small box with a pre-paid label ... I didn't even want a receipt. The door was locked with a sign indicating they were 'temporarily' closed and were only letting customers with paid mailboxes. Me, along with several other people were ignored and not acknowledged. It's like they feel they can treat customers anyway they like since they have a 'monopoly' on UPS services in the area. If corporate is reading this, maybe consider adding a self-service drop box or two in the Kona area.
