“The deli section of Whole Foods is delicious and I use it often when I go to Hawaii. Prices are determined by the weight of the box for each category of side dishes, so you can add a variety of different types or just meat.
This is an interesting system that I have never seen before in Japan, where there is no price attached to each side dish, and the price is determined simply by weight. The price of soup is determined by the size of the container, so it's better to fill it with as much as you can.
If you don't know how this works, you won't know how to buy it, so I hope this helps.”
“It looks and feels exactly like a Sprout in California, except it only serves vegetarian prepped food here. Other than meat products, this place has everything else. Oh, I couldn’t find eggs either, so not sure if they sell eggs here. The prepped food was good, unfortunately I’m not a vegan, but I’m sure vegetarians and vegans would love this place. Even the burgers from the deli were vegan burgers. There were seats if you’d prefer yo eat your food here.

“This Safeway store has a smaller footprint that some of the others on the island. You will find a reasonable selection of packaged meats and sausages. Produce selections has been somewhat hit or miss depending on the day of the week. Otherwise the store is well stocked with the expected grocery store and convenience items. Friendly staff and cashier's”

“I am an Instacart shopper and my customer asked for 3 items from the seafood department (poke varieties and such) well, the bar code was reflecting the incorrect item even though I knew it was the correct item. ALAN was so kind, helpful, and very patient. And most importantly he had the knowledge needed to help me by making a new label with the correct bar code so I could complete my shopping for the customer. If not for Alan’s help, I don’t know what I would have done. I am very appreciative for the excellent customer service I received from Alan and it’s always nice to be helped by employees who know their jobs well.”

“I have all of my prescriptions filled at Safeway Hamakua pharmacy. The pharmacists and staff are efficient and vy helpful contacting physicians when refills need to be authorized. They also have superb skills admonstering painless flu and vaccine injections - hardly know that I've been injevcted. Bravo!”
