“Most people go to Hawi on the Kohala Coast to visit the art stores, but the Ackerman Galleries are just a short two miles further down the road in Kapa'au. The art and gifts are far superior than anything in Hawi. So go on and drive to Kapa'au and you'll find the store across the street from the original statue of King Kamehameha I. That's another reason to visit and they have plenty of parking. Also there's a great little restaurant right next door.”

His work exudes the spirit of his subjects be it a landscape, or the great American traditions; the American Indian saga or story tell through his realistic style, he is exceptional. The unfortunate part is that his remote gallery at the end of the road in Ni'ulii is rarely open. If you call, in advance perhaps you will be able to make an appt. Rev' on Master Rankin.
