About Hoopulama Science and Discovery Center & Shop
The Ho‘opūlama Science and Discovery Center is a small interactive space at the that highlights native wildlife rehabilitation, conservation, biology, and wildlife medicine. Learn about our history and work and the complex process of wildlife rehabilitation. Explore the exhibit wall and it's interactive touchscreen monitor with patient photos, videos, and a virtual tour of our wildlife hospital. Get up close to Hawaiian honeycreeper sculptures by master craftsman Haruo Uchiyama to observe the diversity of Hawaii’s forest birds. Take a walk through the native garden. Shop a variety of native bird and bat-themed goods in our retail store. Proceeds benefit our wildlife hospital.
Wonderful people doing wonderful work to rehab injured native birds of Hawai'i, as well as conducting important research to help guide wildlife management decisions in the future. Very informative displays and a nice gift shop. Please support them.

They do excellent work to assist in the battle for endangered species and thus their ecosystems.

The outside courtyard has some nice displays, but you'll be done in 20 min and wont get to see any live animals / patients. A simple walking path around the outside would kick it up a notch.
