Wonderful people doing wonderful work to rehab injured native birds of Hawai'i, as well as conducting important research to help guide wildlife management decisions in the future. Very informative displays and a nice gift shop. Please support them.

The outside courtyard has some nice displays, but you'll be done in 20 min and wont get to see any live animals / patients. A simple walking path around the outside would kick it up a notch.

This probably shouldn't be called a wildlife center. We were expecting to see wildlife but instead we seen pictures. It's more like a wildlife sanctuary or wildlife veterinary clinic with a gift shop and a small information area.

I can’t say enough good things about the HWC, Linda Elliot, and her staff. I have called them on several different occasions about sick and injured Black Crowned Night Heron. Each time they advised me on whether the bird needed to be seen, or to leave it in the wild. One time they needed to come out and see the bird, and even though they were extremely busy, someone came out on their day off to look for the sick bird.
