The view is wonderful. The park is pretty small. The beach is not much of a swimming beach more like a wading beach, lots of rocks and shallow water then some kind kf human made low sea wall. There is a shower and restrooms and some trees for shade and a play area.Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leashesPicnic area: There are a few tables

Get Beached Out4.6-acre beach front located about twenty minutes north of DT Lahaina along Maui's western shore. *Free parking*Picnic areas w/ one BBQ *Playground for the kiddies *Restrooms w/ one outdoor shower*Across the street from a coffee shop and grocery store that sells sammiches and açaí bowls, so food shouldn't be an issue here. *Dog-friendly *Other reviews claim they've seen sea turtles, and it's good for snorkeling, but we didn't see/do either. The Meh:*Water seemed awful rocky, but to be fair, we might've been there at low tide. The Ugly:*One account I read stated that the reef here has deteriorated from years past, and there aren't as many fish in the area as there used to be. :(TLDR: Nice beach that wasn't busy at all when we visited. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.

Back after 11 years and are sad to see the deterioration of the reef. There used to be so many fish that you can see. Now the water is murky and the reef is in really bad shape. It's still fun for little ones to enjoy the clear water along the shoreline. But it's just sad when we see the difference from when we were last here

Awesome beach park for kids and adults that love shade when it’s super hot. When the tide is low, there’s less water in the first area, but it’s still an awesome spot and when the tide comes up it’s even better. Definitely get açaí bowls from the place across the street while you’re visiting.

Love this beach. Wide open grassy area for Kiki to chase the birds, we saw turtles on the reef close to shore today. Parking. Bathrooms. Picnic tables. Swings. Little grocery store deli across the street in the back on the parking lot side.

Very pretty beach with a safe shallow water area for children. Seemed less populated than other beaches. The little park has some trees near the beach and a few picnic tables. Good, free parking. This beach is just up the street a little from some of the Kaanapali hotels. Good spot for children to play.

You can see whales jumping and fish in the water. The coral and rock prevent the waves from crashing. Swim area is perfect for children to swim. The best sunset you will ever see.Playground: 3 swings, small slide, and designed for toddlers.Restrooms: Men and women's restrooms. There are outdoor showers to get sand off the body and feet.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are free to rome.Picnic area: A number of tables but no grills.

Honokowai Park has a small, simple playground with swings but the playground was under construction when we visited in December 2022. The location is great because it's right next to the beach, so little ones can play at the playground (hopefully it will reopen soon) and in the sand/water. There is a parking lot and you can also walk across the street to shop at the Farmers Market (smoothies, sandwiches, salads) and grab a cup of coffee. Super convenient for families!
