“Dr. Hellsen is a wonderful holistic vet. She has helped my dog, Shaka, recover quickly from a serious health crisis. She uses acupuncture and Chinese herbs and a customized diet. Her focus is root cause resolution, working from an understanding of how to assess and strengthen and balance my dog’s constitution. Shaka has come to trust her and can relax and accept the needles. “Let me begin with the answer to all you pet traveling concerns... KAREN HANNIE DVM!!! My husband, newborn daughter and I are planning to move to Maui in the next few months and will be traveling with our two little furballs, Bella and Delcie, both Morkies. Karen emailed me back and forth and even spoke with me over the phone multiple times to go over the process of how to move to Hawaii with pets. She has a wonderfully easy to understand checklist she emails and has all the necessary paperwork from the Hawaii Department of Agriculture needed, as well! The process can be a bit confusing but she answers her personal cell to answer all questions and walk you through it! She is absolutely wonderful!! She eased all my anxiety and was able to answer and guide me through all my questions and concerns! Karen Hannie saved us OVER $1,200 with her knowledge of the required Rabies Titer FAVN blood work needed to move to Hawaii! Every vet office I checked here in California in the Sacramento area wanted to charge me over $575 PER DOG for this test and Karen said, "NO, absolutely NOT! Do not pay that. They are taking advantage of you! They should not be allowed to charge that much!" She advised me to call back and ask how much each office would charge me to have "blood drawn and packaged" done and some vets said, "I've never heard of that service being requested before" so I kept calling different vet offices and finally found one that does not over charge and they knew exactly of that services I was asking about regarding moving to Hawaii and only charges $35 per dog for the blood work and packaging!!! This is so I can take the blood in a tube vial myself to Fedex and have it shipped to Kansas State Rabies clinic and pay them directly, which saves us over $600 per dog!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!? I was so happy with her knowledge and help on how not to get raped and overcharged by these crazy vet offices! The vet office I found with these great prices is Orangevale Vet Hospital in Orangevale, California! Highly recommend them! THANK YOU KAREN SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!
