“We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Wailea, and the service was truly one of the highlights. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout our stay. The hospitality felt genuine, with a level of care that made the experience feel personal and special.

The location is another standout. It offers a peaceful, private setting with beautiful ocean views, while still being conveniently close to Wailea’s beaches, restaurants, and other attractions. It’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy Maui, especially if you appreciate a quieter, more intimate atmosphere.

The only area for improvement is that some of the interiors and furnishings feel a little dated. A few thoughtful updates would elevate the experience and bring the rooms more in line with the outstanding service and setting. That said, this was a relatively minor drawback in an otherwise lovely stay.

Overall, Hotel Wailea left us with a fantastic impression. The combination of exceptional hospitality, a beautiful location, and a relaxing atmosphere makes it a place we would happily recommend and look forward to visiting again.”

“Update (Sep 2026): The hotel recently upgraded their washer and dryers with credit card and tap-to-pay abilities. Super convenient to do laundry here with most detergents & softeners (not sure about pods). It's about $3 per wash/dry cycle and takes between 30-45 mins for each cycle. Washer cleaned our clothes really well (and nearly dry at the end of the cycle) and the laundry room itself is well-maintained (staff were there wiping down the machines while I was there). Other things to mention, the electric VW bus is a great amenity of you're wanting a ride to the local restaurants and shops. Grills were well-maintained and have all the BBQ tools you need at the grill. All the staff I've encountered here continue to be friendly and welcoming. Although I don't expect it, staff consistently acknowledge elite status at check-in which is a nice touch.

This is my go-to hotel in South Maui. My husband and I have stayed here several times and really enjoy it each time. All staff I’ve interacted with are consistently friendly, helpful and professional. The entire hotel is well-maintained, modern and feels very comfortable immediately. The pool feels very much like a nice resort pool (big upgrade from any other residence inn I’ve ever stayed at) with a very laid back vibe. There are grills available if you’d like to cook as well as basic kitchen supplies in the rooms. The gym is clean, well-maintained and large enough for several people to workout at once. Lastly, the location can’t be beat. You can walk to great restaurants, take the shuttle to the wailea area and visit Kihei within a 5-10 min drive.

We love this hotel and plan to book it anytime we visit Maui.”

“Ashley, the Hotel Manager at Grand Wailea, completely turned our vacation around. We experienced a small issue with our shower head, and Ashley responded with incredible urgency, professionalism, and genuine care. She went above and beyond by relocating our family to a new room, taking care of our breakfast, and personally keeping us updated by texting us when our accommodations were ready. What impressed us most was that she continued to check in throughout our stay to make sure everything was perfect and that our family was enjoying our vacation. Her exceptional customer service, compassion, and attention to detail transformed what could have been a negative experience into an unforgettable stay. Because of Ashley, we had an amazing vacation and cannot thank her enough.

We would also like to recognize Donna from the breakfast restaurant. She was absolutely amazing! Donna provided outstanding service with a warm, personal touch and made us feel like valued guests every morning. She offered wonderful recommendations for things to do around Maui that truly enhanced our trip. Her friendliness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made every breakfast a highlight of our stay.
