“We LOVEEED everything about this hotel — the price, location, free breakfast, friendly staff, amenities (especially the grill for our cute steak night). This is the second time we’ve stayed here and we definitely plan on returning. Mahalo to the amazing staff!”
“3 nights at the AC Hotel Maui Wailea were comfortable and very beautiful. The view of sunset from Kai, the poolside bar, was unforgettable. The bartender also made some delicious mai tais.
The rooms are very clean and nicely appointed. My problem with the rooms is the lighting. The room had a built in night light that made it impossible to make the room as dark as I would like. I will also add that location is very convenient, but not on the beach. That is the only reason for not giving it 4 stars for the location.”

“You cannot find a better place than South Maui. It’s gorgeous, easy and laid back. No crazy big city by you and no interstates on this island. You’ll be blessed to come here and stay for a good long while. The amenities are wonderful and the people here are second to none.”

“One of the best resorts I've ever stayed at. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever layed in. Overall, 10/10 experience. Will 100% be back one day”

“We stayed at 3 bedroom Hoole Villa, property managed by Grand Wailea. While the location is great, the villas are of old. They don’t even have USB ports for charging phones. We did not find good value for the expensive stay ($4000 per night).”
“We just enjoyed an incredible week at Hotel Wailea for the first part of our honeymoon, and all I can say is wow! I truly don’t want to leave. This hotel exceeds expectations in every possible way.
The property is perched above the ocean, with small villa-style buildings spread throughout the grounds, each housing only a few suites. It feels far more like a charming European boutique hotel than a traditional resort. With only around 70 suites total, the atmosphere is intimate, peaceful, and never crowded. Every suite is impeccably maintained and offer breathtaking views of the Molokini Crater, the North Pacific Ocean, and neighboring Hawaiian islands. During the winter months, you can effortlessly spot humpback whales from your room… we visited in early January and saw them daily. The hotel even provides binoculars to enhance the experience. If you can, book the Celebration Suite; ours was on the top floor, and the views were absolutely unforgettable.
You might hesitate to book here since the property isn’t directly on the beach, but I can confidently say this is the best place we’ve ever stayed in Hawaii despite multiple previous trips. You feel completely immersed in the rainforest while still enjoying sweeping ocean views, an unbeatable combination.
Beyond the stunning setting, the food and drinks are phenomenal. Standout favorites included the ricotta pancakes with lilikoi cream, the ube cheesecake, the filet mignon at The Birdcage, and the margarita-style cocktail at the pool. If I could eat those ricotta pancakes every day for the rest of my life, I absolutely would.
Most importantly, the people truly make this hotel feel like home. Michele at the front desk, Zoey at The Birdcage, Tiare from the bell staff, and all of the pool bartenders and servers were exceptional. Every single person went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. While celebrating our honeymoon, I unfortunately aggravated an old ACL injury and spent much of the trip in a knee brace. The Hotel Wailea team graciously transported me around the property via golf cart, which was truly a saving grace and a wonderful way to meet so many incredible staff members.
In addition, Hotel Wailea offers multiple house cars for guests to use around the Wailea area. After enjoying a few drinks at Monkeypod nearby, we were picked up and dropped off in style in the house Range Rover which was a thoughtful touch that perfectly embodies the level of care and luxury offered here.
Hotel Wailea is the perfect blend of luxury and authentic Hawaiian culture, reflected in every detail… from the design to the cuisine and experiences. We already can’t wait to return.”
