“8 years ago, while visiting Boise I stumbled upon this vintage shop. At the time, Boise seemed sleepy and there were hardly any people downtown. As a city slicker from Rome via Seattle I stood out and felt like Owen Wilson in midnight in Paris wondering the Boise streets with random stares due to my European fashion aesthetic.
Today, I stumbled upon this vintage shop and was transported through multiple eras of true vintage Americana. The shop was exceptionally well curated with beautiful paintings, a taxidermy deer I believe that was wrapped around the American flag. Vintage suitcases, beautiful scarves and 60’s skinny ties blended with an exceptionally well curated eye for art and sports pennants.
From my experience shopping vintage for the last 20 years, Ward is an originator. There is no pretension and just a keen eye for design aesthetics.
I’ve seen many hipsters replicate this exact same aesthetic and it feels forced. It’s as if I’m stepping into an unorganized estate sale or a grandmothers closet with mothballs in haircuts are paired with scotch and vintage clothes for $100 a pop.
As I live here permanently, Ward’s shop is my FAVORITE in Boise. The long in depth conversation about art, denim, and US made mills and factories speaks to an owner that has a passion for the craft of not only hand made but well made US clothing.

I love Haus for Woolwich and Pendleton, Serendipity for 80’s blazers, Urban Cowboy for Pierre Cardin and silk shirts and I can go on.
Ward Hopper Vintage is like going to a 5 star restaurant. Also, his artwork is really beautiful. It is reminiscent of a Catalini aesthetic with retro nostalgia.

“This place is completely full of BEAUTIFUL local artists work. It has a wide variety of art and prices. It is also ran by the artist who take turns working the counter. They are friendly and helpful if you have questions. I love that they also host painting classes that are beginner friendly. I’ve taken two classes with artist, Danica Factor, she is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. I’m also a big fan of her artwork so check out her section!”
