National car rental at “Boise Airport” almost never have the options to choose from the aisle. pointless being an Emerald Club member!Gave high rating because the National team at “Detroit Airport” were able to help with my billing concern and the issue with passenger seat belt, hassle free. Thank you for making the process smooth and swift for the customer!

Very shady business. They don't return your car until they rent it back out. you will be stuck with extra days on your rental depending on when they rent the car again. I rent from national every week but this location is the worst. I will rent from Avis going forward at this airport. just terribly dishonest.

I have been loyal to National for years! Their service is always top notch. The cars are well maintained and clean. I love the convenience of walking out to the lot and choosing my vehicle.

Friendly staff and quick turn around with the car return process. Receipt was available right away, much needed for business trips when submitting expense report.

I travel monthly for work and National is my favorite place to rent a car from. The ease of picking up the car beats all other companies by far, then the cars and customer service are top notch!

The car I rented was a Hyundai Santa Fe. It looked brand new and was very comfortable. When I picked it up it had a weird smell but I thought maybe they cleaned the carpets and rolled up the windows while they were still wet. When I got up the next day the car smelled way worse almost like a dead animal. I searched the car thoroughly but could find nothing. I even looked in the engine compartment, under the car and under the spare tire. I left the windows down at night all week except the day it rained a little so it was tolerable. I am not a big complainer so it was fine for me but it should probably be thoroughly cleaned and aired out before the next renter.

Didn't have the car i reserved originally. Gave me a minivan. Car smelled of stale smoke, media screen stopped working at random times. Windshield had a small crack that kept growing. Called twice to get it swapped out and first didn't have any cars and second said they would call me back and didn't. Turned it in they said they would give me a discount. When they charged my card the actual discount was less than half of what they had said.

I really would like to thank the guys at this National location. They were super helpful and went above and beyond to ensure I can extend my car rental without paying exorbitant pricing. System was charging me 6 times my original pricing for extension of vehicle per day. About 1000 bucks for 5 days extension. They helped me match my original price.I sadly don't remember names of every body but 4 guys helped me, Chris and Ryans who were at desk and 2 guys who were handling the returns in lot. I am sorry that I couldn't remember other 2 guy's name but they were the ones who really helped me.Again thanks. people post a lot to complain, but we need to appreciate when we got helped as well.Also to National, I would have returned vehicle if it was that exorbitant in pricing and went with Avis which was giving me 40$/day for same vehicle. These guys ensured I stayed with National/ Alamo.Enterprise couldn't help me that day but then guys at return helped me when they came to know the reason I was returning vehicle.

For emerald members - do not use National in Boise. Worst experience I ever had with National. I was told that a car (sedan) was "assigned" and that there is no option to change it to a small size SUV, since those are "pre-ordered". I called the customer service same day about it, and the customer service agent, dismissed me by stating that I was supposed to check the website before travel and inform myself on National policies. I travel weekly for work, used National extensively, never had an issue before, until Boise Airport. Also, customer service offered no resolution to my complaint, not even a "thank you for being a member".

Had to wait about 5 min for a car, as executive elite, not ideal but could've been worse. Staff was apologetic. Car drove well, maybe could've been a tad cleaner but I get it since they wanted to get the car back out to the next customer. ended up with a basic cx-5.there is no car choice at this airport. old school go to the desk they give you the key.

75 days rental period last year and 65 days rental period this year I always used National.Easy to pick up and friendly service and very supportive. I got Hyundai Santafe at the beginning and wanted to switch the car. Went to National on Saturday, the staff in the car lots was very friendly and supportive despite my poor English.Got Toyota Highlander but the Car was noise. Went National again next day. The same staff, he was very friendly and helped me switch car again. Even though his manager was questioning about me. Got Jeep Grand Cherokee. The car was very good condition and clean. Car return was very easy.I always use National Car rental even though my company has other options.

Worst customer experience. I am sorry that I didn't check previous reviews for Boise. If you are an Emerald member, do yourself a service and use a different car rental company in Boise, because their local office is not participating. You will be stuck with whatever car they want to give you. I am using National for work extensively in California, with the most exquisite service. Not in Boise! I called the customer service line, where a lady called Ada listened to my complaint, and bluntly told me that she cannot do anything to improve my customer experience (customer that now is stuck with a car I didn't want, yet I am paying for it). Traveled to Boise in the past and used Budget, so I will go back using them for my weekly work traveling.

I was coming in right around closing time (1am) and called two days prior to confirm how I could get my rental “after hours” was told to call day of flight to confirm I was on the flight and they’d stay open for me. Called while I was at the airport the next day to confirm as I was instructed, spoke to customer service and was assured they’d stay open for me until 3am. I arrived only 30 minutes past 1am and they were closed. I had to take an Uber to my airb&b and back to the airport the next day to pick up my car. The inconvenience and extra cost was unfortunate, and while I was lucky to have been able to handle it, some folks cannot. I think better communication of your actual abilities would have been appreciated, under promise over deliver. Once I arrived to get my car the next morning, it was very easy, no complaints there.

They may not have an emerald aisle, but having options is nice. They gave me a few different choices and I went with a Malibu. The car only had about 1400 miles on it. It’s nice seeing new cars again and getting the typical “customer first” attitude when using National. Would definitely recommend for your Boise rental car needs.
