I have been getting billed for services of stopping my service when the tech that picked up my tank gave me a zero dollar balance that should have closed out my account- I keep getting bills that say I owe them 500 plus dollars

Considering Amerigas? RUN! This is the worst utility company I’ve ever worked with. We bought a home with an existing Amerigas tank. The way they transfer rental agreements and fee responsibilities is deceitful. Before I even signed a rental agreement they told me I was responsible for a removal and service fee- when I NEVER consented to service. Against my better judgment, I decided to rent the existing tank because I was blissfully ignorant to how truly HORRIBLE Amerigas is, and did so for 3 years with no issue aside from astronomically priced propane (far more than competitors) and fees galore. Last fall their ancient tank we had started to leak, but they told us it was a slow leak and that they’d replace it in the spring. Which they did. But that tech replacing it informed us that it was something that should have been fixed immediately- we have small children and pets, not to mention the loss of propane we paid for. We are moving temporarily and our tenant used a local propane company at their last home, and after being left with a leaking tank for months by Amerigas plus having to wait on hold for 30+ minutes only to be berated by a customer service agent, we decided it was for the best to end our lease with Amerigas. Only to learn that they increased their fees for removal to $299 plus $119 for a “service call” last fall and informed customers of this astronomical increase camouflaged in an innocuous email- and informed that by continuing to be a customer that we were complicit in the fees. This company is deceptive, their phone customer service agents are rotten if you can get ahold of one, and you’ll pay in more ways than monetarily if you do business with them. Learn from my mistake and steer clear.
* Edited to Add: The owner said they’d contact me below a week ago, they have not to date. They did spend less than 20 minutes removing the tank because the new company had already removed it, emptied it, and placed it aside. While no other service has been prompt with Amerigas including promised call backs, I did promptly receive a $419 bill. It is beyond outlandish and predatory that a business can operate this way. We have stopped service with another propane company in the midst of a move and the fees while still present were at least reasonable. Amerigas is a nightmare.

i have been watching my bill get larger and larger with less proprane delivered. i am leasing a 500 gallon tank to help reduce our family costs of $hazmat and recovery fees. yesterday you only delivered 20% of my tank size and cahrged me $4.99 a gallon. i called to get help and got hung up on, and with my second call for 30 min to find out that there is a fixed price of $4.15?? why would you do this to me my family and not present the best options possilbe upfront. i have been asking to how to under stand the cost of the propane per gaollon and my onlty resposne is market prices. when i am on a us webiste it says prices are going down not up. how can i understand the conflict between websites and your price? why do i have to get upset and have to spend so much time finding out i have been paying so much extra with a bad plan. i cannot get a clear explaination to auto delivery, fixed delivery or will call? i feel really ripped off

Have been a customer for over 9 years with AmeriGas Propane.
They have friendly customer service. It's easy to call in your order.
And they are prompt to come out and fill your tank.

This was a horrible experience. We placed an order to have propane delivered. The propane was delivered to the wrong address, we were billed for it. We, the customers, were responsible for calling in more than 5 times before someone finally came out to confirm that propane had not been delivered to our address. After all of the calls that we had to place in order for this to be corrected is absolutely absurd.

AmeriGas delivered my propane when they said they would. Their office staff is very helpful. I highly recommend them.

If anyone has EVER lost a loved one that had an account with Amerigas that had a REFUND from Amerigas. They do everything in the book to block or make it extremely difficult!!! I have spoken to approximately 13 representatives, sent 2 copies of certified letters with copy of a Death Certificate, letter of Executor designation and a email with attachments to Amerigas to no avail!!! I was also recommemded to be added to the Account so I tried just so I can receive the refund, just to informed that I need a letter from my deceased uncle making that request. My uncle deceased in July of 23 and it has been 8 months going on 9 months...

It was horrible got set up for a payment plan without my knowledge and when I tried to fix it no one could speak English well enough to understand problem . As an elderly woman on a fixed income I still feel financially abused by Amerigas fees I will be charged !!!

I received great customer care and help before I became a customer. Since becoming a customer, it usually takes me multiple attempts to get a knowledgable person to help me resolve a question or problem. I'm a bit disappointed that I switched propane companies.Update: I received a follow-up from a representative that addressed the issue I had. She was very helpful and understood my concern.

You always make sure we don't run out of propane, I like being on level pay as we are older and on a fixed income. The delivery people are quick and efficient.
