I have brought my dogs here for several years and truly always had a positive experience, untill it was time to say goodbye to our dog of 17 years-( although they paperwork they had printed was incorrect and made her 15 years old). The vet confirmed our fears- "horrible arthritis" in hips, knees, etc., Inability to hear, Inability to see much, and signs of dog dementia (she often dosnt know where she is and panics). They vet told us she had glaucoma and it was likey very painful and causing her eyes to protrude. We reiterated we were prepared to say goodbye and had no interest in doing ongoing pain management or anything to prolong life. At this point the vet told me we could probably get A FEW MORE YEARS out of her... and then went directly into testing, pain management, etc. We again said we didn't want to do that. She replied with "if your dog can do 10 things she enjoys" then we shouldn't put down. I said she does nothing because she can't see, hear, or walk. The vet responded with "she still loves being with you!" At this point the vet and her assistant kept going on about how cute my dog was over and over and over, gave her pain medication, and sent us home with more meds. They didn't give us anything information on euthanasia- essentially decided for us and felt like they pushed two really vulnerable people into something they didn't want to do- because I couldn't argue to kill my dog- and they put us in that horrible position. Ultimately all my dogs issues will only get worse, never better. So now we have added additional suffering for my dog, for us, and twice the cost to give her peace. So now I'm dealing with putting my best friend of 17 years down again, it's the hardest thing I've even had to do. We left feeling like our feelings were disregarded because "shes so cute" and a bit manipulated by the "but she still loves you comment" because who says that to a crying dog owner who asked for euthanasia?? This will leave long lasting greif and pain for our family, and it didn't have to be this way.EDIT: its been a year since this event and our dogs death....Alpine just sent us a reminder to bring her in for dental cleaning... take note they haven't sent us anything like this for our living dog. Completely ridiculous. The office called me multiple times a day for weeks and then got my husband's number and tried contacting him. After this review I was contacted by a group of people locally who shared similar experiences with Alpine and were hoping to include me in there pursuit. I have no desire to get involved, I mention it because I'm the only not 5 star review here and it's odd after hearing from an organization against them. Prior to my emotional support therapy dogs death we loved it here, but I'll never heal fully from the trauma of my best friends painful death and I'm being reminded by mail. Take me off your lists, she died.

Alpine Animal Hospital has been excellent for our rescue dog for more than 6 years now. Dr. Bailey is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. In addition, the help from the techs and other staff has been outstanding. I highly recommend Alpine Animal Hospital!

Alpine animal hospital gave me the incorrect dosage of monthly flea and tick medicine. I addressed this on my last vet visit and the vet I saw told me that they’d be happy to rectify the issue and give me a full box of the correct dosage because of their mistake. I came back to exchange the box and when I did, I was told they were going to take some of the dosages out and they no longer were going to compensate me for their mistake. After spending thousands of dollars at this vet, I feel extremely disappointed to be nickeled and dimed, especially when I was the one who caught the mistake and had to take time off of work to fix this issue. I will be taking my business elsewhere, I recommend you do the same.

A couple of months ago my dog's health declined and when I scheduled an appointment for a humane euthanization, I was basically coerced into have testing done. As the blood work was supposedly being processed my dog's health declined further during examination, and the vet tech informed me that she's been agreed with my decision of humane euthanization. I never received the blood test result and Alpine animal hospital still charged me for the unnecessary blood work. Although the staff was very kind it was disheartening that they would take advantage of an already bad situation. In RESPONSE to your Response: After talking with you today, I explained that I was coerced by your vet tech to run unesseccary tests. The time stamp on the test compared to the timestamp on the euthanization will show that the results were not completed prior to my dogs health declining to the point that the tech urgently agreed that the euthanization was needed immediately. The "refund" you offered had no number attached to it and the only thing you said is that it would be minimal. You requested in return of your "minimal" refund, I take down my honest review. I declined as I hope that this honest review helps someone else in this situation. I knew my animal best, I knew when I made the appointment that we would be saying our last good-bye. Your establishment pushed me to have labs done, I KNEW were unnecessary. However, I was in a vulnerable situation and was made to feel like if I didn't have the tests completed, I was a bad pet owner. It's unfortunate. It was a bad situation turned worse.

I can’t say enough good things about the level of attention, care, and empathy I’ve gotten from them! Every vet there is fantastic, but my primary vet, Dr. Bailey is phenomenal. My cat Momo has lived an extra two years and counting (recently turned 16) with congestive heart failure and advanced kidney disease due to their care. We’ve even been able to get his arthritis under control pretty easily and he acts a lot younger now too!Their dedication is second to none (at least out of the vets I’ve been seeing over the last 20 years or so). I’ve even gotten phone calls from them at like 9PM after seeing them in the morning, letting me know about some research they stayed late to do in order for us to decide on the best treatment plans.Seriously, I think they care just as much about my cat as I do. As long as I live here they’ll have my business.

If I could give negative stars I would. We took Ricky into Alpine Vet on Aug 8th for a suspicious spot on his left hip. I thought we were going to see Dr Jim as he was recommended to us, but instead with met with Dr Jessica. She aspirated some cells and determined there were abnormal cells so she recommended surgery. We set the surgery date for Aug 18th. He was to be there between 7:30-8am and we were told we could pick him up between 3:00-5 the same day.The day before the surgery I called to ask them what time his surgery was because that seemed like a long time for them to have him. I was told they don’t know the timing as they are unsure if there will be any emergency surgeries that day. I asked if we could bring him in when they have a better feel for timing, but was told no. I expressed concern for him sitting in a crate for a possibly long time and was told, ‘Generally, it is the parents that have the problem’.So we complied.2 days before we took him in we noticed another suspicious spot on the back of his neck. I brought it to their attention so we decided it would be a good idea to remove both of them at the same time, never thinking about how the recovery would go.The morning of the 18th we dropped him off to a technician, did not see the Dr. We picked him up about 2:00 that afternoon from a tech, again did not see the Dr. We were given instructions for his recovery and medications to give him, but no cone because of the spot removal and stitches on his neck.He was groggy for about 24 hours then when he woke we had quite a challenge keeping him from licking his hip. They suggested a onesie, which we did, but no luck. He chewed thru those. The second day he chewed through a stitch so we brought him back to be looked at. We wanted to talk to the Dr, but only a tech came out to take him from us. When we got him back they had put 4 staples in his hip. He was traumatized and hid under the bed for 3 hours til we could lure him out. We were never confided in the plan of action concerning the staples. At this time we asked about a cone and were told they would not sell us one because of the stitches in his neck. One week later Dr Jessica called me at 6pm on Friday night to tell me about the lab report. Within the first 3 minutes she used large medical terms that I had no idea what they meant. I asked her to stop and dumb it down for me, which she did. I also told her the only way we are getting through this was to medicate him with a sedative and I would need more of these when we came back in.2 weeks later we went in to have the stitches removed, again a tech came out and got him and took him in the back. When they were done I asked about the pills I requested and was told I could pick them up in 24 hours, not right then.Dr Jessica called the next day asking if we wanted the pills. I told her I was disappointed that they weren’t ready when we were there and I also told her that we were not happy with the care we received from her office. I would have liked to have more contact with the Doctor and I was looking for an apology, but none came.Through all this we only saw the DR one time for about 10 min. Every tech we saw was different each time. No consistency or a helpful liason.

I think our family has been going to Alpine Animal hospital for about 30+ years. We have had many four legged friends and have always been super happy with Alpine Animal Hospital. Our main Veterinarian is Dr. Tawnie Bailey but if she is not available we totally trust all of the other doctors at the office. If you are looking for a Doctor for you four legged family member a highly recommend Alpine Animal Hospital. The entire staff is just AMAZING!!

Are dog Cooper was dying, we got confused with the Alpine Hospital and the Alpine emergency Vet care. We pulled up to the Alpine Hospital and a vet assistant came out and said that they were closed, I said I just called and you're waiting for us, the assistant said you need the emergency Vet they are a block that way, my husband in tears said I think he is dead can you just see if he has a heart beat " No you have to go to the emergency " my husband in a pleading voice can you just check ...again she said no go to the emergency...When Your children are your pets and they literally dying in front of you, the last thing is a uncaring veterinary practice....by the way he was Dead..Thank you Kath for your concern and checking on my husband and myself..please praise the young lady who came to the door to let us know you were closed... and we were at the wrong hospital

We absolutely adore Alpine Animal Hospital and highly recommend them as care givers (veterinarians) for your most beloved furry friend. Dr Bailey and Dr Duchow have taken care of our Great Pyrenees for over 28 years. I cannot say enough good things about how we are treated by all the staff at Alpine. I thank them for all they do.

I am VERY PROUD to recommend Dr. Tawnie Bailey, her Associates and her staff. They ALWAYS go above and beyond when caring for our doggies. We have used them for our Vets. since we moved here 20 years ago. They are kind, compassionate, caring and ALWAYS fair. They all explain very clearly what is going on. 2 of our doggies have had to go over the Rainbow Bridge and the care they gave to us during that time was exceptional. I would without hesitation recommend them. I will NEVER go to anyone else. Thank you, Alpine, you are THE BEST❣️❣️

Alpine has been my regular vet for years and seen all of my pets. I have never had a bad experience with a single Dr or tech. My pets love going there and I feel safe with the level of care they receive. Highly recommend them!

Alpine has taken care of our Maggie girl since she was a little puppy. The staff and vets are kind, and very thorough. When Maggie was a puppy and ate a large rock they were able to take her to surgery, and took such great care of her. Being the doodle girl she is, we have had our fair share of vet visits and Maggie still is happy to see everyone!
