“We stumbled upon the property after a long day of driving at the tail end of a road trip. The Modern Hotel is a renovated motel with upgraded amenities, while keeping its mid century charm. The hotel and restaurant staff have created a personalized experience and its obvious they take pride and are committed to their vision. Our room included a large rainfall shower, oversized towels, locally made body lotion and soap, and a ridiculously comfortable bed.

The restaurant and bar is worth a trip for Boise locals. The bar offers a number of craft cocktails created by the bartenders who are also well versed in classic cocktails. We were too wiped from driving all day to eat a full dinner, but had appetizers at the bar.

Breakfast included a fritata menu, juice, yogurt parfaits, and locally baked banana bread.

This is NOT a "check in at midnight sleep and grab a bagel and banana from the breakfast buffet on your way out hotel" but a refreshing change from antiseptic chains or perfect for a night on the town.”

“Staying at Oxford suites was pleasant. We got a room with two queen beds. Everything was very clean including the bathroom, there were enough towels, the sheets and bed were soft with enough pillows, and all staff was friendly and efficient. The only thing that needs improvement was the pool area. The chlorine in both the hot tub and the pool was so high that both our kids complained of it hurting their skin. It was a nice temperature but too chlorinated.Otherwise it was great! They have a lovely breakfast with made to order eggs and omelets.Nearby activities: It is located near a busy eating and shopping area”

“Can’t say enough good about this hotel. The rooms, location, and facility in general are excellent, but they have the friendliest staff. I’ve stayed here a couple times, and every time had the same experience of wonderful care and service.”

“You can tell from the bathtubs in the bathrooms and the door locks that this is an older building, but that's about it, as it's clearly been remodeled. Everything else from beds, toilets, sinks, shower fixtures, furniture, look, smell, etc. feels much newer. The entertainment options haven't been upgraded and you still have the old school tv option with a slow, line-by-line channel guide and no streaming, but that's really nit-picking. The staff (front desk, food service and maid service -- I had good experiences with all of them) is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is the best "chain hotel" breakfast I've had. The place is clean and obviously well run/managed. Not sure you can beat this value in the Boise area for the price.Oh, side note - the pool is a little underwhelming. It's small and outdoors, although heated. No hot tub. So, if that's a must have for your visit, you might consider checking it out more closely before committing. It didn't matter to me and my family this visit.UPDATE - It appears there is an indoor hot tub. That wasn't explained when I checked in, but it's still a 5-star review from me and was still an excellent check in experience. Only makes it more likely I'll stay there again next time I'm passing through Boise.”

“This is a fun place for a date night local stay. They have elaborately decorated suites with large spa tubs. This room was "Swiss Family Robinson." You get to sleep in a tromp loi painted scene, in a treehouse. The tub has an elephant looking down at you. The trunk is a shower. (Why does this deserted island have an elephant? Haha) The place has a great breakfast too.”

“My experience at the Grove Hotel was decent, but there were some downsides here. I was shocked that the rooms did not have a microwave. There was also very loud maintenance on one of the 3 elevators, which was very annoying and it prevented the elevators from working in a timely manner. The room next to mine was also cleaned very loudly around 9pm which I was surprised about. The room was clean though and the amenities such as the restaurant and bar were nice.”

“This location is fantastic. Check in was a breeze, professional service given and the rep worked to assist my request. Clean room. Air conditioner works great and the toilet works as it should, no issues. Beds and pillows still in good shape. Place is only about 5 yrs old. Pool and hot tub are clean and kept in great condition. Competitively priced and recommended.”

“Joshua was so sweet and treated me with such kindness. I had my service dog and was not treated rudely like I had been at other hotels as my service dog current is retiring and I am training a new one. I was given every effort to accommodate my needs as I am disabled and they went OUT of their way to treat me with courtesy and efficiency....the day manager and her assistant were so sweet and checked me in quickly, and early and also walked down to open the door for me. I will always be so grateful as it was difficult traveling alone, disabled and with major health and stress concerns at bay. God bless these associates!!!”

“We unexpected had to book three rooms at the Residence Inn this past weekend, after the VRBO we booked for a family wedding fell through. My elderly mother has some specific needs and Steve, the General Manager, went above and beyond to locate a chair for her to sleep in. He and his team were kind, friendly and very accommodating. We can’t thank them enough for taking good care of us, on what had been a very stressful weekend.Rooms: Nice and clean.”

“Pleasantly surprised. Well maintained, clean hotel with large rooms. Everything looks brand new. I enjoyed spending time at the "Deck" on the 3rd floor, listening to live music, drinking a Deschutes Black Butte Porter, munching on a "Cocky Balboa" chicken sandwich and taking in the views of downtown Boise, with views of the Capitol from the Deck. Kids enjoyed the pool and had it to ourselves. Breakfast is average, but I really enjoyed the coffee. Parking garage is on the small size but we didn't have any problems finding a spot. It was not a BSU football game weekend, which probably is why it wasn't too crowded. Convenient to lots of restaurants, bars and shopping, parks, etc.”

The location is ideal for exploring downtown Boise and the restaurant is excellent- fabulous food and cocktails!! The staff was super friendly and helpful. “I want to particularly thank the manager of this Best Western. Over the years we have always been happy with our stay there but recently I was especially grateful to the manager who went out or her way to help us make reservations that worked for our special situation. She was kind and helpful and found a solution for us. Thank you. We will be back:)

Noteworthy details: Excellent service”

“Really rude guy on audit tonight both the people were just talking mess about the job and how the boss wanted to add someone else it was just rude and not good to hear it. I stood there for 5 minutes before getting the help I needed plus with the extra attitude. Like if you don’t like working nights or talking to people find a different job. Lady that I saw at front desk with him was super sweet and kind. Thanks:)Rooms: Super nice and clean”

“We stayed here for 3 weeks during a home repair. They made us feel so welcome. Our dog was very unsettled for the first 3 days, but she settled in nicely, considering she relied on us to leash her up several times a day and take her outside. While we were stressed with the insurance claim taking forever, the staff were all friendly and responsive to our needs. We were grateful we had a full kitchen to cook dinner daily. It saved us so much money on eating out daily, as well as feeling some sense of normalcy while being displaced from our home. (It did feel a bit strange walking through the lobby with WinCo grocery bags, though.) The breakfast was so nice. It always had a great selection of breakfast foods that had the homecooked touch, and not just a pre-packaged carb loaded food. Fresh fruit, and a different selection daily was really nice to look forward to.Our room was always cleaned on time, and now I'm spoiled. :)Thank you Homewood Suites, for making us feel comfortable while navigating an insurance claim and repair situation. This visit was neither vacation or business, but I listed it as a business stay because it was the better option of the 2 choices. We definitely will consider this hotel chain in our future travels!”

“Great place to stay for the price. Free breakfast till 10:00 am. Took my AAA membership for about 10% off. Good service, breakfast was good, rooms were clean. Downtown Bosie is like 10min away and it's close to the airport. I'd stay there again. Hard to beat for the price.”

“Can't believe the value and quality of the rooms. I highly recommend this hotel. I hear a guy complaining they don't offer breakfast, but I think the full small kitchen is way more valuable. Beds were comfortable, pillows were not the best, but not the worst either. They were still good quality. All staff was kind. And they made sure we had all we needed, pitcher of water in fridge, and the have small food and drink options for purchase in the reception area.”

“Not bad at all. Maybe on the lower end of Fairfield quality, but I wouldn't be opposed to staying here again if I were back in town. It's close enough to the airport and they offer free shuttle.”

“We really loved our stay at this new hotel. The room and property were very clean and felt new and modern. All the staff were polite and helpful. The pool was a little small but we loved the hot jacuzzi! And the gym space was nice too. We booked a “pet friendly” hotel thru priceline so there was confusion after I called and the front desk said “no cats”. We had to call priceline to speak to the hotel to allow our cat which was initially frustrating and then the manager said we had to keep the cat in the carrier at all times? That is not do-able so we felt like we might get kicked out if housekeeping found our free roaming cat in our room. Not fun. Also for their pet relief space: there was an area in the parking lot with a poo bag dispenser that seemed like they intended it to be a dog relief area but it was all landscaping rocks (the very sharp kind) which I imagine is super hard for dogs to walk on. There were no grassy or even dirt areas nearby the hotel so we had to walk our dog blocks away to find a dirt patch because she wouldn’t go on the parking lot pavement or landscaping rocks. This property could definitely work on their “pet friendly” stuff but we loved everything else about this property including the free breakfast buffet that included lots of options from a cereal bar to scrambled eggs bacon toast oatmeal and even gluten free muffins.”

“I did exceed my expectations. The rooms and everything is no stranger to me since I stayed in many best Westerns. Just only thing that surprised me was no microwave in the room. But it's no big deal. Location is good just right by the Airport and it's only a couple of miles away from Downtown Bosie. What I did love about this Hotel in the wonderful front desk staff. They are were so kind, warm and friendly. Especially Jenna and Ashley they were both so warm with smiles the whole time on their faces. They really made my hotel experience so wonderful. That's the best guest service every I received. For my first visit to Boise this means a lot to me. Definitely recommend this Hotel.”

“Just stayed with our three kids. Our King suite with fold out couch was perfect for our toddlers and the room had plenty of space for our pack n play for the baby. The pool was super warm and fantastic. Loved it, perfect way to let the kids get their energy out after a long road trip. We decided to sleep and so missed breakfast, but that is okay. Would stay here again.”
