“I have been a WaFd Bank customer for decades. Through the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know the staff at WaFd.
When your sole option is a phone call, the bank uses a comfortable mix of human and AI resources without inflicting the frustrations which accompany skeleton crew staffing (e.g. the aggravations associated with being short on time and unable to speak with a human being, when doing so is the only way to resolve your issue). WaFd lets the customers decide whether to speak with a human being or continue to pursue their needs with help from AI through informing the customer of how to exercise these options. And in situations where you must stop into a branch, all of WaFd's human staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional -- a real treat to interact with.
WaFd has brought me solice during past times of turmoil (such as dealing with the consequences associated with data breaches which impacted me). After all, I was able to take comfort in the knowledge that my finances were secure because the staff at WaFd and I know each other.
My decades of experience, working with WaFd and numerous banking organizations, lends credence to my view that the truly personal banking experiences which I enjoy with WaFd are increasingly rare and valuable in this day and age.
