“Our 102 year old father came to Fair Oaks after he'd fallen, broken his femur. We experienced patience, care, and expertise throughout our stay. It was such a confusing time for all but the staff always took time to answer our many questions and address our worries. Nurses, nursing assistants, and especially the PTs were tender, knowledgeable....and sometimes provided us all with much needed laughs. Congratulations to all of you who make Fair Oaks such a positive place in such a hard time. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.”
“one of the best experiences I have had in a while. James took the time, and I mean like 40 min, to walk me through how to change tires and tubes, adjust the saddle, handlebar adjustment, and much more. I highly recommend Elgin Community Bikes.”
“Had my son's 9th birthday party here and it was amazing! The staff was so patient and helpful to the kids. Everyone had a great time and it was so easy to host! Highly reccomend!”
“The pantry helps families and individuals in our community who need a helping hand. It's possible because of our local stores, bakeries, bread companies, private donations, and businesses donating food, goods, and money. At some point in life everyone needs a helping hand. We are a community who takes care of each other. There are wonderful volunteers who come and help out. The local high schools also make community service a requirement. Teaching young people empa, compassion, and service to others is what make a society work.”
“This place is so amazing for kiddos! We worked with Beth and I cannot recommend the whole facility more. The horses are amazing with the integration and therapies offered. They are knowledgeable and helpful in also recommending how we can further progress at home. So appreciative of Dream Riders!!”
“I was not sure about joining a chamber and then I met Drew at The Edge Fitness. He told me about all the great things the Chamber had to offer. Anytime I have a question Drew is always there to answer it. He has made events fun and is always welcoming. I look forward to attending more events!”
“Everyone here is very, very kind. I am beyond grateful . They never make you feel less than. They provide to the community with love in their hearts. Sometimes they have to deal with greedy people but they continue to do what they are doing. I am forever thankful for them for helping my family during hard tines. I also want to add they have the most beautiful gardens and they grow everything you can think of! They work super hard on their gardens and they even share their gorgeous flowers they have picked. It always made my day seeing their gardens and what they have freshly picked!♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️♦️ i will say the number system is really bad. They changed it where someone comes out and gives numbers but they don't come out often. And you're expected to know who's in front of who but everyone is in there cars. It gives me great anxiety going to get my number from them and see other pepple also going and then us having to figure out who was next. A lot of people arent honest and take advantage of people that are soft spoken or that won't confront anyone. Or others that have come in after, go and get a volunteer to come out and they try getting a number before the people that are waiting paitently outside. So the person outside has to go quickly and be like actually i was here first. I personally cant do that and not everyone will do that so it's unfair and we get skipped. Ive seen people who got there after someone, get a number before the person that showed up first, many times. It has been this way for maybe a month or more and I was hoping by now they'd have a new system. It's basically first come first serve which is fine but people can get greedy. I am not sure anything to suggest to help this. Maybe appointments with time slots? I don't know but I really hope this isn't the permanent system.”
“We went on Raptor Day, so parking was $20/car (usually free). It was money well spent, and also knowing the funds are going to help with conservation. The staff/volunteers were so knowledgeable and friendly, and spent time answering all our questions. It is also a beautiful area to hike around, with some great spots for photos.”
“Got dogs with lots of energy? Here is a great place to wear them out physically but most importantly mentally. Class sizes are small and instruction is individualized.”
“It is members only and I was invited as a guest for a small event. They had a nice private room for us to dine in with excellent service. The dinner menu was limited but very much in line with a hunting and fishing club, venison, walleye as well as some more standard fare. I cannot comment as to pricing as the menu had no prices but all in all an excellent meal ( I had rib eye steak and sampled the venison) and a five star experience.”
“It was a great drive from Chicago. In addition, there was a great tour, a tack shop that has a wide variety of items ( I do not know if they sell Westernsaddles) and they teach you about the horses and maintenance necessary to farm and horses. They do great work taking in horses from owners who can no longer care for them or horses who are pr have been neglected or abused. They even had a blind horse, and another horse, who is her " seeing eye," guide animal.”
“My wife (God rest her soul) was introduced to Senior Services through community service she did for a project and the people that work and volunteer there had such an impact on her that she changed careers to devote her talents to work with our elders in the community. Amazing group of people.”
“My wife always is one of the first and will come back with some great food from bread, milk, cereal, pasta cupped fruits for our kids school lunches and snacks great place to get food”

“Horizons for the Blind offers many services and products for both large-print and braille users. I was impressed by their selection for both individuals and companies.”
“Anytime I have an appointment here, the staff and nutritionists are very kind. They provide resources if you are struggling and are not pushy when it comes to breastfeeding and offer formula no questions asked (some WIC offices push breastfeeding so much so that if you decide to formula feed they make you feel like you have no choice). Would 100% recommend this location.”
“Thank you Deb & Purrfect Cat Rescue for all that you do & for helping me rehome two elder cats. I can't express enough how grateful & blessed I feel to have had your assistance. I can imagine that finding homes for elder cats is no easy task. I would've kept them myself, but I already have five. I was heartbroken & full of anxiety at the thought of taking them to a shelter. Today though, my worries have vanished and I know these two furr babies are going to a great home where they'll be loved and treated like little queens. Thank you so much!! Words could never express how truly grateful I am!!”

“I go here to do my Lifey I go here too it pick up things that I want and they put it aside for me until I get there and all the employees there are very well trained and very friendly I hope they keep up the good work”
“This location is decent. The staff is younger and friendly. They usually have decent selection of secondhand items. They offered military discount on Mondays & I believe senior discount on a certain day too. They always offer a color of the week for 50% off as well. The parking lot sucks but just be aware when driving in. The donation shares the same entrance and exit which can make it tricky for people leaving the actual store.”
“Our family enjoys being at the sports club, and we couldn't be happier! One of our first impressions was how clean and well-maintained it is here. It's reassuring to see that the place where you spend your time is kept in such perfect order. We attend the club together with our daughter, and for us, it's not just a way to stay fit, but also an important step in realizing her goals in the swimming pool. We appreciate the family-like atmosphere that prevails here. In the club, we feel like part of a large family, where everyone supports each other and strives to achieve their athletic goals. However, sometimes the family pool gets crowded, especially during peak hours. We think it would be a great idea to organize circular movement on the swimming lanes to enhance the swimming experience and reduce overcrowding. We are grateful to the sports club for the excellent service and the opportunity to engage in sports in such a wonderful atmosphere. We are confident that our family will continue to enjoy our time here and recommend the club to anyone looking for a great place to exercise and relax.”
“Where do I start! FSA does an amazing job at working with all family's and helping them in their current need. The staff are all super supportive and do their job with excellence!”
“I had a great experience at Goodwill Store & Donation Center - Northbrook. The store was clean, well-organized, and easy to browse. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the visit pleasant from start to finish. There was a nice variety of items at very affordable prices, and I was able to find some unique pieces in excellent condition. This location is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy thrifting or supporting a good cause.”
“i just wanted to share a message while we all sit under the same circumstances in life right now. I ask that everyone here learns to find reasons to give space for mutual respect, support, and ego. I like to believe in life that the world is a reflection of the way we treat others; and I find it sad that during these times of uncertainty and loss, we still find the energy to put others down- solely out of the fears we can't personally face. that's okay. Within time you will overcome those and see the other side that wasn't so bad. Please find time in your day to breathe, let go of some baggage you carry and bring with you, it can show all over your face if your careful.. ask your peers how there really doing, and find ways to enlighten them. Im sure that's does by far more for you and the other person, than it does what they ate yesterday! The more we can find reason for divine intervention within each other, is the only way we will get out of this together.
Have a great day!”
