“Our dog Kody is almost 13 and has a grade 4 heart murmur. His primary vet knew he needed dental care but referred us to VDC to do the procedure because of their superior expertise in dealing with his advanced care needs. Our first appointment was a consultation with Dr. Hassan. Our experience with the whole team was exceptional! The team spent extended time with me to explain the diagnosis, the range of potential needs during the procedure, and the associated cost range in detail. We scheduled the procedure with Dr. Juriga for two weeks after the consultation, which essentially went just as I had been advised during the consultation. Dr. Juriga actually reached out to me during the procedure to discuss a particular finding and his recommendation for path forward that he wanted me to know and concur with before proceeding. I took Kody home that afternoon with a detailed explanation of what to expect, what to watch for, and what to do in case of concerns. All in all, I’m so grateful for our primary vet’s referral because I truly believe Kody has had a better outcome to his condition as a result.”

“Both of my dogs have been to VCA Aurora in the past few months with complex medical issues. The staff in every specialty has been phenomenal namely Dr. Peacock, Dr. Medinger, and Dr. Shuster and their teams. I felt they all cared very much about my dogs and were very honest about the risks and benefits. For my younger dog, it was unfortunately an emergency which led to us needing to make a difficult end of life decision, but the staff gave us a private comfortable room to spend as much time as we needed. They were compassionate and kind. For my older dog, he had complex medical issues including a liver tumor and kidney disease. The team helped me make decisions that made the most sense for a senior dog and I am happy to say that the surgery to remove his tumor was successful due to the skills of Dr Peacock and his kidneys are under control with the help of Dr Medinger. My dog is acting 3 years younger and he is only 2 weeks out from his surgery. The specialists and their teams are ao amazing and helped me make difficult decisions for the best outcomes for my dogs.”
