“Great thrift/resale store. A little bit of everything. Antiques, furniture, lamps, household goods, adult cloths, children's clothes and toys, craft supplies and fabric, etc..... the best part of the shop is how wonderful the staff are, kind and helpful, they go out of the way to assist you. The best part is all proceeds go to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, definitely I cause that I can support. Stars is absolutely worth checking out because no matter what you're looking for you're sure to find some some amazing treasures.”

“This is a good flea market with friendly vendors and staff, tasty food and beverage and items sold at very low prices. The only thing that was off was when I went (on a Friday) more than half the vendors were not there and their spaces were closed. Besides that this is a good flea market though.”

“Great place for DIY & GC's looking for a solid selection random items to finish that home improvement project you have. This place also has a pretty decent select of home furnishings from time to time, obviously if you find something you like you'd best purchase it right away as it will most likely be sold soon.”

“I walked into Goodwill today expecting the usual: a quiet stroll through the aisles, maybe finding a decent mug or a hoodie with a questionable graphic. What I did not expect was to encounter a living legend. A man whose customer service skills transcend mortal understanding. A man named TONY.
From the moment I stepped inside, the energy shifted. The fluorescent lights seemed to glow brighter. The air felt lighter. I swear I heard a faint choir in the distance. Then I realized why because Tony was on the clock.
This man didn’t greet me.
He welcomed me like I had just returned from a long voyage at sea.
His “Hello, how are you?” wasn’t just a greeting; it was a spiritual recalibration. My stress? Gone. My posture? Improved. My faith in humanity? Restored immediately.
As I browsed, Tony didn’t just help me find what I needed he anticipated my desires before I even formed them. I reached toward a shelf, and somehow, Tony was already there, gently placing the exact sweater I didn’t know I needed into my hands with the grace of an angel delivering a prophecy.
When I asked where the electronics were, Tony didn’t point.
No, no, no.
He escorted me like I was royalty, giving a guided tour with historical context, pricing insight, AND styling suggestions for items that weren’t even clothing.
At one point, I dropped something. Before it even hit the ground, Tony appeared teleported, possibly catching it mid-air like a professional athlete in the championship game of life.
And then… the checkout.
Oh, the checkout.
Tony rang up my items with the precision of a NASA engineer and the warmth of a lifelong friend. The speed? Lightning. The accuracy? Unmatched. The gratitude he showed for my purchase made me want to go shop again immediately, just for the privilege of interacting with him one more time.
Goodwill, if you’re reading this:
Give Tony a raise. Give Tony a crown. Give Tony a museum dedicated to his service.
This man is the backbone, heartbeat, and soul of the entire establishment.
If Tony is not employee of the month every month, the system is rigged.
In summary:

I came for thrifted clothes.
I left with a renewed purpose in life, a favorite employee, and a story I will tell my grandchildren.
Tony is HIM.”

“The store is 3-4 stars overall. But I am definitely giving 5 stars to LaShay who works at this store. When she’s there, the store is much cleaner than the other days. There are couple of workers who are so rude, it’s just sad.”

“Robert is an amazing person that actually made an impact in Elgin. He will be missed and hopefully the next person can focus on helping the community and getting everyone the correct help they need. Since he first showed up, I can see the great things he had done less in a year and also had showed the Latino community he is well trusted. Never seen salvation army this active since Robert the mayor came in and took over. Hopefully it can be maintained like that.”

“I've had such good luck finding some fantastic treasures here!! You just never know what you're going to find unless you look at EVERYTHING!! I really like to take my time since not all items are in the correct sizes. Don't get me wrong, this store is clean and organized. Everything is sectioned off. The dressing rooms are easily accessible. Just make sure that you bring your own bags or boxes depending on what your planning on buying. Here's one of my treasures, it's from Victoria Secret Pink and it was $6.99!! I absolutely love it!!”

“This location is fairly clean and selection is plenty. The staff are nice and reasonable! The prices aren't as bad as others. For example, Savers in Orland park is priced higher than this location.

This Savers in Schaumburg is always busy when I go. I always find something.

Lines on Monday go super fast because they are very efficient. They put out new stuff every day from what I notice by coming throughout the week.”

“I think it was Ken and Anthony who found the books I mistakenly dropped off there. They were very nice and helpful. I really appreciate that they went above and beyond to help me. So often people do the minimum, it's great that the team at the hoffman estates goodwill does the maximum to provide their customers and donors with the best customer experience.”

“I wanted to take a moment to recognize Anna for the amazing service she provided during my recent visit to Plato’s. She was incredibly friendly, patient, and attentive from the moment I walked in. Anna helped me find exactly what I was looking for, offered great styling advice, and made the whole shopping experience enjoyable and stress-free.

It’s clear that Anna genuinely cares about her customers and takes pride in her work. She went above and beyond to make sure everything fit well and that I left completely satisfied with my purchase. Her positive attitude, professionalism, and attention to detail really stood out.”
