“Dr. Alzien is extremely thorough. He explores every aspect of your sickness and proceeds accordingly. He does more than the hospitals do. I left the ER still feeling the same way when I went in, but with him I felt much better leaving. He refers you to specialists if need be and follows up with him afterwards. I love that doctors office. I highly recommend!!”

I can understand them being irritated or insensitive because it is a free service and the whole city wants to come here so just be patient with the staff. They might answer defensively but you just have to understand the volume of people they service. Just be kind. This doesnt mean let them talk to you anyway but just try to respond kindly. I explained I called 20 times no answer since the lady wanted to scold me for not having an appointment simply got my point across that I tried to setup appointment. Communication amongst the staff might be poor. One lady said do one thing the next lady was hollering across the waiting area because I wasnt instructed correctly by the first lady. Little things like that that can cause escalations but just remember it's a free service for the public so we have to be appreciative regardless.”

“Went in to get routine blood tests and was having sort of a bad morning. I was visibly upset when i sat in the chair and Sammie (was taking my blood) distracted me and was so incredibly kind. She quite literally diverted me from having an anxiety attack. It’s moments like this that remind you of humanity. Kindness from a stranger during a routine visit. Great experience, very professional, on time and won’t be getting blood at any other location.”
“The Blackhawk location is conveniently located near the CTA North Ave Red Line stop and the CTA #8 Halsted Blackhawk street bus stop. You can make appointments online, which are recommended, or do a walk-in at most times, but not all -- check schedule before going. Lots of availability for appointments weekdays in morning or afternoon. Also open half day on Saturday. Check-in is fast and simple with computer kiosk -- no glitches. Bring State ID or driver's license and insurance card -both are scanned front and back. Enter alphanumeric appointment code or scan QR code for appointment from their phone app or printed out from online Quest account. Doctors can fax in your test orders, or in most cases, electronically send them directly to Quest. You can check online before your appointment to make sure Quest has your orders, and if they don't then you can bring printout of your orders to the clinic for your appointment. The staff is friendly, helpful, efficient, and I have never had a bad jab. They are professional, just as good as the staff at the Northwestern Medicine labs. Lab results can be faxed to your doctor's office if you want -- just give them the phone number. However, most doctor offices and hospital groups have the ability to get your results sent over to your medical chart electronically. Many insurance plans charge no or lower copays for tests done at freestanding labs like Quest, so check out your plan. You may be able to save a lot of money using Quest. Check to see if there is a Quest location near your home or workplace. There probably is one nearby.”

“When I first saw this Wal-Mart Market I was not compelled to go in because I thought the prices would be to steep and I could just go to a place with lower prices. One day while walking in the area I saw a lot of foot traffic so I decided to explore...well what a great exploration. I was pleasantly surprised at how many things they had on clearance and I decided to try out a few things and after that I was a fan! Don't get me wrong they have some prices that make your eyebrow raise like "Say What?" I can find this cheaper some place else but I got a $16 dollar pot roast for less than $9 dollars and some big thick chicken breast for a little over $3 and when I came home and cooked them they were fresh and tasty. They also have other things throughout the store that is discounted and if you come with coupons you are sure to save. The last time I went with the in store discounts and no coupons it was almost $50 dollars. I can only imagine what it would have been with my trusty coupons. I also like the staff they took me right to the aisle when I couldn't find an item and they did it with a smile. I have been here 3 times so far and I haven't met a cashier yet that wasn't nice and that's a plus in my book!!! This location is really about food and household items so don't look for any Tv's, housewares or electronics...they do have a $3.74 bin of dvds so becareful you can have a handful of food and movies that eat up your savings...oh that's just me...lol All in All I wish I would have stopped in before now but at the end of the day I'm glad I did and I think if you take a chance you will too!!! Enjoy!”
