“Dr. Alzien is extremely thorough. He explores every aspect of your sickness and proceeds accordingly. He does more than the hospitals do. I left the ER still feeling the same way when I went in, but with him I felt much better leaving. He refers you to specialists if need be and follows up with him afterwards. “The Phlebotomist was exceptional. I believe her name was Uniyah or something similar. I have tiny veins and have always had trouble getting blood drawn, since birth. The most experienced doctors, nurses, and phlebotomists have had trouble even after I warn them that it will be difficult, they often have to use ultrasound. I told her about my small veins as soon as she started and recommended a heating pad. She immediately placed a heating pad on my arm and successfully placed the needle and got both vials of blood on the first try! It was quick and painless, I commend her for her skill and professionalism and for listening to me instead of dismissing me like most healthcare professionals. She would be a great trainer for others, this will be my location for any lab work moving forward because of her.”

“Went in to get routine blood tests and was having sort of a bad morning. I was visibly upset when i sat in the chair and Sammie (was taking my blood) distracted me and was so incredibly kind. She quite literally diverted me from having an anxiety attack. It’s moments like this that remind you of humanity. Kindness from a stranger during a routine visit. Great experience, very professional, on time and won’t be getting blood at any other location.”

“My experience at the Advocate Medical Group Immediate Care Sykes site was pleasant and efficient. After checking in and stating the reason for my visit I was seated in the waiting area less than 10 minutes. The nurse informed me that I should have x-rays first then I would be seen by the urgent care doctor. Doctor Desarey Sims reviewed the reason for my visit which was injury to my thumb due to a fall. Dr. Sims was through and caring of my injury advised what to do including follow-up with my primary care doctor and and orthopedic doctor as well. My overall experience was very good.”

I’ll only come here from now on for STI testing. Not sure why they would have any bad reviews, tbh.”
“I’ve never had a bad experience at the South Loop location (that’s also the only AHF testing center I’ve been to). The staff always finds a way to function efficiently, even when the center is short staffed. Everyone is always welcoming and kind. I really love that my results always come back within 2-4 days. The clinic is a walk in clinic. The South Loop location is open on Monday’s and Thursdays (I think you can call to figure out the hours). You would have to go to a primary physician for a more in depth STD panel, but the center offers testing for everything within the basic STD panel; that includes a blood test. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for timely results/good service.”

“The Blackhawk location is conveniently located near the CTA North Ave Red Line stop and the CTA #8 Halsted Blackhawk street bus stop. You can make appointments online, which are recommended, or do a walk-in at most times, but not all -- check schedule before going. Lots of availability for appointments weekdays in morning or afternoon. Also open half day on Saturday. Check-in is fast and simple with computer kiosk -- no glitches. Bring State ID or driver's license and insurance card -both are scanned front and back. Enter alphanumeric appointment code or scan QR code for appointment from their phone app or printed out from online Quest account. Doctors can fax in your test orders, or in most cases, electronically send them directly to Quest. You can check online before your appointment to make sure Quest has your orders, and if they don't then you can bring printout of your orders to the clinic for your appointment. The staff is friendly, helpful, efficient, and I have never had a bad jab. They are professional, just as good as the staff at the Northwestern Medicine labs. Lab results can be faxed to your doctor's office if you want -- just give them the phone number. However, most doctor offices and hospital groups have the ability to get your results sent over to your medical chart electronically. Many insurance plans charge no or lower copays for tests done at freestanding labs like Quest, so check out your plan. You may be able to save a lot of money using Quest. Check to see if there is a Quest location near your home or workplace. There probably is one nearby.”
“Devonyine Freson was the absolute best. Im a muscular 300 pound guy who hates needles and needed to get his blood drawn. She was sweet, and cared!!!! She eased me through the process, made sure I was as comfortable as can be, and drew my blood in one try. Shes will be an amazing doctor one day - value her!!!!”
