My friend and I just returned from a trip. BMI was the initiating airport. We we're trying to get the shuttle from the long-term parking lot to the terminal so we didn't have to bring our luggage that far. We found out that the shuttle driver was at lunch, so we ended up having to pull our luggage all the way from the long-term parking to the terminal.
After reaching the terminal, there were no agents present. The agent for our airlines appeared approximately 30 minutes before boarding and we had to stand there for an hour and a half waiting. We were under the impression you needed to be at the airport to check in approximately 90 minutes to an hour before flight time.There was to be wheelchair assistance for both of us but instead, we had to take all four pieces of luggage, are carry-ons, walk through security and go upstairs to our gate number. There was no wheelchair upstairs to take us down the bridge to get on the plane. Needless to say, this was not a good start to a long-anticipated trip.
Upon our return to BMI, we were told that there would be wheelchair assistance for us when we got off the plane. However there were wheelchairs sitting but no one to push them. We therefore had to walk the bridge down to the elevator and out to the main terminal. The pilot told us that we could pick up our luggage at carousel One. We stood there for about 20 minutes and no luggage came out on the carousel. Luckily a family member investigated to find out where the luggage was. It never made it out of the baggage room in the back and they had to retrieve it for us.
We are contemplating our next trip to begin somewhere besides BMI. I can't believe that our hometown airport is so lax and seemingly uncaring for those with disabilities.

Its small airport but that's not a bad thing. Usually if I fly this is my airport. It has free parking & easy to navigate through.

Nice airport. Small and security was a breeze. Rental car is in site so no need for shuttle. Clean and friendly.

Nice small airport. One food option past security. It’s a bar, coffee shop and sandwich shop all in one. limited snack options and worst of all Pepsi proxy’s only.

I recently used this airport for business. It has one of the smoothest check in process, the kindest employees and I would recommend flying out of this airport anytime, if you live in central Illinois. They connect to most major airports and can get you anywhere.
